**Urban explorers take risks, study says**

There are many reasons why people go exploring. Some people do it for the thrill, others do it to document the city's history, and still others do it to simply see what's there. After: Many people do not realize that there are many places in their city that are not accessible to the general public. Some are hidden in plain sight, while others are tucked away in places that most people would never think to look. Bridge: One such place is abandoned buildings in your city. These structures were once occupied by people who worked, lived and played in them. But over time, they fell into disrepair and were eventually abandoned. Now they stand vacant, sometimes with broken windows, graffiti tags and other signs of decay. These abandoned places tell stories about the people who once lived there, about how the city has changed over time and about what it means to be human in the modern world.
