Sleepy little dragon dreams
A little sleepy fox found somewhere safe to sleep on a rainy evening a hidden meadow so deep in the woods no human has ever seen
So obviously I spend a lot of time thinking about lan wangji hearing wangxian and knowing that wei wuxian is back.
BUT! imagine how he must have felt when jiang cheng hit wei wuxian with zidian. imagine! you've spent 13 years mourning the love of your life. raising his son as your own. scars on your chest and back that will forever remind you of what you've lost. and then he comes back. it's an unfamiliar body but you know that it's him. you can keep him safe this time.
and then his asshole brother who you HATE hits your love with the exorcism whip and for a second, you think you've lost him again. your second chance, vanished as soon as you found it.
and then he's fine! your lost love is still there, being his annoying self, flirting with you. probably just to piss his brother off but he says you're his type. this all happens within like five minutes. emotional rollercoaster of all time.
Somewhere deep into the woods a graveyard rests long abandoned graveyard going undisturbed until one slow evening a traveler took shelter there, a fluffy purple blanket surrounding them.
In a horror mood, and I felt like drawing in the style I used when I was working on my graphic novel. Decided to write a short story to accompany it!
The eyes 
There’s a quiet tugging, pulling me scratching against my skin, begging to follow it. I know they’re watching, waiting for their opportunity to dive under my skin and take residence in my bones to watch the world through my eyes instead of the walls.
I cannot sleep as long as they’re here and they’ll be here as long as the walls the floor and even my clothes exist.
I know sleep deprivation will eventually pull me under. I will not be able to fight it forever.
the second I’m asleep they will take hold and I too will become one of them a part of the floor and the walls the ceiling as much as I am a part of myself.
for the time being, I watch the tv the unfolding of events, unsettling, but almost comforting in a way knowing I am not alone in this. alone with them, I watch people slowly give in to sleep, I know soon I will too.

Apparently, just in a mood to draw some angst of dust for a long time after her sister dies she sleeps at her grave which is hidden in a grove of strawberries, deep into the woods, where no human would find it in a very, very old abandoned cemetery.

One of her sisters last requests was to not tell her story and to bury her somewhere where nobody would bother her grave because she had spent most of her time being very closely watched/having constant, social pressure and the strawberry/graveyard seemed perfect to dust.
The rabbits are her sisters. She put spells on them so that they wouldn’t age/have to eat as often (this lead them to glow slightly, and their babies were a very light shade of blue)they were one of her favorite things and dust takes care of them now they mostly live in the graveyard.
For weeks after her sister die, she sleeps at her grave and for a lot of years after she sleeps there on their birthday and her sisters death day.
I decided to animate my favorite scene in the book series I’ve been writing for 10 years. dust is a puppeteer which is a subset of death (kinda necromancer for reference) in this world she dies at around 16 but successfully brings herself back, but it puts her in kind of a weird headspace for a bit (4 years or until book like 2 and a half) . I really like the writing/dissociation around that area and I thought it would be really interesting to paint and animate
The quote “ “ is this even real” I ask the words are quiet murmur against my skin. is this body just another corpse I’m controlling….. nothing I touch quite reaches my skin anymore I don’t know when it happened but at some point, I started to feel more a part of the ground underneath me the forest and the trees then the humans and dragons around me.”
I mostly hand painted all the frames, and my hands are died….. anyway info time!
After dust dies her dragon/bond immediately carries her to her domain (this like slightly sentient library labyrinth thing) because she is by far the most powerful there and her dragon is very desperate at this point the library labyrinth thing literally slows down time to some degree so for her it is closer to two years of her slowly healing, but for everybody else she’s gone about six months everybody assumes she is dead during this time and that her bond died with her because that’s always what they insisted they would do immediately after dusts death, even though dust tried to talk them out out of it.
After about two years for her, she leaves, even though it’s like technically too early so she has trouble physically, keeping her body from falling apart for a little bit and has very severe dissociative episodes, but if she didn’t leave when she did, the war probably would have been lost, which she died, trying to prevent so she left anyway, and immediately started working on winning the war/reclaiming the position of power she had before and stuff.
because she stopped working on sewing her soul back together too early. She has like long-term, chronic pain issues and the dissociative episode episodes continue significantly longer than they do for other puppeteers puppeteering themselves she learns to manage it overtime primarily by leaning on her bond with her dragon.
I think part of the reason I’m so obsessed with MXTX’s works is the way that each story seems to hold you gently as say “Your kindness mattered. It didn’t alleviate the suffering, it did not undo the pain. But your kindness mattered.”
Kindness could not erase Luo Binghe’s abuse, but it changed the story into a kinder one.
Kindness did not stop Wei Wuxian’s death, but it did save a-Yuan.
Kindness did not undo Xie Lian’s suffering, but it renewed his sincerity to help others.
Kindness did not change the entire world, but it helped create a softer future.
Its such a nice message, that maybe kindness will not protect you, maybe you don’t see the outcome of it, but you should still try to be kind, and I love that honestly.
You know what? Forget the discourse. This is no longer my hill to die on.
You wanna ship canonically aspec characters because “aro/ace people can still date/have sex”? Okay, then. LET’S DO IT. I wanna see an aromantic character with an alloromantic love interest. I wanna see that confession of undying love and the moment when the aro character says they will never feel the same way—not romantically.
I wanna see the asexual character with their allosexual partner. I wanna see that moment when the ace characters tries sex with their partner for the first time because they want to make them happy only to realize that they are 100% sex repulsed.
I wanna see the two demiromantics who don’t even know if what they feel is romantic attraction, but they adore each other and just want to make healthy snacks together and destroy each other at Mario Kart.
I wanna see the two aces who love sensual affection and are figuring out what they define as sexual or not.
I wanna see the romance + sex neutral aroace who happily and consensually does whatever makes their partner happy…but their partner still struggles with feeling undesired.
Oh, babe. You thought shipping an aspec character would be just like shipping an allo character?
