so engrossed as he is in conversation with a few of his words before him, it is no small wonder the weight is not incinerated when it lands upon his shoulder with no such prior warning . the two stiffen a'fore him with wide eyes behind their masks, gaze firmly glued to errant familiar the nuzzles &. taps against him .

        there  he  is  !  a  man  for  whom  he  has  naught  but  the  utmost  of  respect—  after  all,  his  is  not  the  simplest  of  duties  to  maintain  .  and  just  the  man  he  was  seeking  out  himself,  in  truth  .  there  is  a  binder  tucked  away  'neath  arm  that  houses  the  prototyping  for  a  project  terribly  near  to  his  heart  that  belies  his  intentions,  but  the  expression  he  sees  gives  him  pause  .

        for  the  one  that  most  would  claim  quite  chipper,  upbeat  and  ever  at  his  best,  he  seems  ...  a  touch  out  of  sorts  ?  not  quite  disheveled—  he  has  never  known  hythlodaeus  to  allow  himself  to  appear  as  such,  but  there  is  something  about  him  .  posture  seems  to  right  itself  when  he  realizes  mitron  stands  at  his  door,  but  the  damage  is  done  enough  .  always  one  to  maintain  appearances,  he  is—  cannot  help  but  wonder  if  he  hasn't  been  at  the  desk  all  day  without  pause,  deciding  on  creations  and  permits  since  the  rise  of  the  sun  .

        carmine  gaze,  one  sharp  now  long  -  dulled  with  decades  &.  centuries  of  age,  narrows  in  scrutiny  .  'tis  a  tiny  thing  that  now  rests  in  hands—  hells,  at  its  size  only  one  is  truly  necessary  to  cradle  it  .  if  a  guess  at  an  academic  scale  had  been  requested,  he'd  soon  say  it  was  not  simply  a  chick,  but  a  fairly  recent  hatchling  at  that—  covered  in  natal  down  so  lightly  dusted  red  it  might  easily  be  mistaken  for  pink  .  he  raises  little  thing  higher,  that  he  can  inspect  it  further  &.  finds  further  conclusive  evidence  yet  .

        with  eyes  still  clouded  over  in  immediate  post  -  natal  blindness,  it  lashes  out  with  beak  at  anything  its  vague  vision  can  discern  to  move  .  &.,  he  notices  quickly,  anything  that  bears  considerable  heat  .  suspicious,  palm  glimmers  briefly  &.  then  flares  up  in  the  dull  red  of  his  own  fire  -  aspected  aether  .  curiously,  beyond  the  brief  waving  of  tender  wings  &.  a  muted  cry  of  discomfort,  little  chick  otherwise  does  not  make  to  flee  .
