I wish I could go to a doctor and just list every single symptom I ever experienced no matter how small and unconnected they seem and the doctor is nice and patient and knows everything and they nod and smile and explain that every symptom I ever experienced is connected to like one rare and often overlooked issue that's sooooo easy to fix with like. a pill. and then I never have to worry about anything ever again.

#I’ve foolishly tried to time the market for two years #I even heeded the classic advice that a (despicable) R president makes home buying more affordable their first year #I waited for the ‘inevitable’ lowering of interest rates and the lowering of market rates to follow #I waited on inflation to chill #none of that happened. and I was financially ready to buy a home in the market as it stands. so I did.#well… I am. closing in two weeks lol.#my interest rate is insanely high but lower than it had been a few months ago and lower than the fabled 80s #and I have emergency funds and ability to refinance when rates are better #it’s such a small portion of my monthly income that increases in insurance and tax won’t ruin me #and even massive market swings are highly unlikely to put me underwater based on location size price and all that #I bought a house because I want somewhere to live that I (kind of and together with the bank) own #and because it fit my short medium and long term financial goals #I hope y’all know another market crash isn’t a fun home buying spree #it means we all suffer in all facets of life #just like 2008 all over again #the housing crash and the revolution are both false raptures that you gotta let go of #now don’t mind me I’m going to spend the next few months painting and patching and gardening #in my 120+ year old 900sqft home

A lot of people still don’t understand me when I say that reversing desertification is a good thing. They think I hate deserts

Let me put it this way. I really like the ocean. However I don’t think it’s a good thing for the ocean to flood inland destroying ecosystems and villages because some of the natural hills that kept it at bay have been mined away. Me building a dam to keep the ocean away to bring back some of the natural barrier that was lost isn’t me trying to destroy the ocean. It’s me keeping the ocean out of my goddamned ecosystem where it isn’t meant to be anyways.

People planting new trees and grasslands on the edge of the Sahara desert aren’t trying to get rid of the entire desert. They’re replacing the natural root systems that kept the soil from blowing away that have been eaten away by overgrazing. They’re replacing the natural barrier that keeps the desert in its goddamned place.
