So I have a question for the people in the emo/scene communities (When I say emo in this post, I am mainly talking about the fashioncore style).
I feel like there are always people ridiculing you on TikTok for shopping at Hot Topic and other stores you'd commonly see in a mall because they are fast fashion (and I'm not disagreeing that fast fashion is bad or anything) -- but they often call these people posers for not buying second-hand and DIYing
Now I know in goth and punk subcultures thrifting and diy are big things, but wasn't a big part of emo/scene culture malls?? Like, I feel like back in the OG days there wasn't a huge emphasis on diy, and these subcultures were almost always heavily influenced by the mall -- meaning it was always influenced by fast fashion
I feel like attacking people and calling them posers for shopping at the mall is incorrect, but if I am incorrect, please let me know!!
(Also, when I say fast fashion, I do mean stores commonly found in malls, not like shein ot temu)
