Trans day of Remembrance | 20th Nov

Today marks the 19th Trans Day of Remembrance as started in 1999 by Gwendolyn Ann Smith in order to remember Rita Hester, a black trans woman who was murdered the year before. Now the day marks a chance for the trans community to mourn the dead and raise awareness about the violence, hate crimes and oppression that leads to the high death rate for trans people.

Rest in power and fight for the living.
