my streaming bookmarks for 2026
quick post for anyone asking what i'm using to watch stuff this year. been refining this for a few months and these are the actual bookmarks that stuck.
paid subscriptions i still pay for:
netflix â keeping it because my partner uses it daily. catalog has thinned a lot but it's still the easiest "i'll just put something on" option in the house.
spotify (technically not streaming but) â for the soundtracks rabbit hole.
paid subscriptions i dropped:
disney+ â was opening it once every six weeks. canceled, will resubscribe for one month when something specific comes out.
apple tv+ â same pattern. severance and slow horses were worth it for two months total, then off again.
amazon prime video â kept prime for shipping, treating the video tier as a bonus rather than a destination.
free streaming for the in-between:
for older films, foreign cinema, anime, and live tv that paid services don't carry well, i use https://sflix.today/ . no signup, full catalog, player just works on mobile and desktop. movies + tv + anime + live channels all under one search. mostly i go there when i remember a specific older title and want to watch it tonight without subscribing to a fifth service.
things i don't bookmark anymore:
random "free streaming" sites that show up in google's top 3 results. they're all ad-spam now. if a site has more popups than actual content, it's not free streaming, it's a popup business with a video player taped to the side.
aggregators that require email signup. defeats the point of "free."
reddit threads recommending sites. half of them are spam, the other half are dead links.
curious what other people's actual 2026 stack looks like. drop a comment / reblog with yours if you want.
