Ally: no worries. You tell him when you think is best. Obviously this is something that's really important to you, to put a close on this part of your life. I find that really admirable Lucy!

Ally: you tell me what to do and where to do it and consider it done. I'm hre for you!

Ally: okay but next time we do something fun you can pick codenames.

LUCY: thanks. i think closure is important for every single member of my family.

LUCY: and thanks for that. i'm going to text you later and i need you to meet me at the barrier. i've gotten permission to go across it and come back, but i still don't super trust auradon not to mess this up in some way. also a ride back would be super nice.

DEL: I mean I fully support you threatening him. Though I feel like I'm more likely to do the hurting than be hurt.

DEL: does it make me a bad person that I'm a little sad it wasnt actual matricide??

DEL: but I'm glad you officially cut ties. You dont need to be carrying the dead weight of the family around with you.

LUCY: and you're probably right, but you never know. one wrong move and i will absolutely begin the threats.

LUCY: you know my mom so i think that's allowed.

DEL: I mean obviously I am very pleased with the progression of our relationship. He makes me smile more then I imagined he would.

DEL: Please tell me it was a short trip to commit matricide...

LUCY: as long as he makes you happy i will refrain from threatening him.

LUCY: i mean, you're not far off.

DEL: i am big enough to admit when something is pleasant. I was a huge fan of the very tasteful necklace i was given too. Probably made the whole endavore worth it for me.

DEL: What was the other part?

LUCY: a meet the family moment being indicative of how far your relationship has come in a short time was also hopefully a bonus.

LUCY: i went back to the isle.

DEL: After meeting the elder Fitzherberts, I can moderately tell why you enjoy being adopted in to their family.

DEL: It was a decent holiday.

DEL: though I'm curious what was up with your little disappearing act??

LUCY: right?

LUCY: and i am moderately proud of you for admitting it was decent.

Ally: I can be there for you! however you need me to be! honestly. But it might help if you talked a little bit about it. no pressure either way, I just wanted you to know I think we're friends and I want to be as supportive as I possibly can!

Ally: either way i PROMISE i can make it sure you get back!!! It'll be easy, peasy, lemon squeazy

Ally: Omg do we get code names? That would be so cool. You know I used to have a lot of dreams about being a spy. Mr. and Mrs. Smith style. Except we're like Ms. Tremaine and Ms. Triton. OMG MS AND MS T.

Ally: wait no I'm sorry this is about you. Okay I'm totally here, and I'll just make sure I don't about you to Fitz like at all! I GOT THIS!

LUCY: it is truly NOT a big deal. i'm putting a final nail in the coffin of the tremaine part of my life and giving my family the closure they never asked for... along with a few other minor isle tasks. the most important thing is that i don't have to be there any longer than necessary.

LUCY: ...would that not get confusing? no code names. this is a very straightforward task. in and out within 24 hours.

He wasn’t going to cause any problems at Olivia’s wedding. He wasn’t going to cause any problems at Olivia’s wedding. That was pretty much the mantra that was going through Tristan’s head, though it wasn’t very helpful of a mantra as he was making his way over to a blonde he had seen around campus and for the most part ignored rather successfully. Acknowledging the Tremaine line seemed akin to acknowledging a cancer that you had managed to get rid of  as if it had been a worthwhile part of your body. At least, that’s how Tristan had always heard and seen it growing up. The family had done terrible things to his mother, things that by sheer willpower and luck she had been able to escape. So why did he have to play nice now, simply because VKs were allowed to come over - an act that he still wasn’t in favor of anyways. 

Still, it seemed almost…childish to continue to ignore her and he wasn’t a child anymore. He tried not to be a petulant child any more at least. First step, actually acknowledging Lucy Tremaine as a person, even if he wasn’t necessarily ready to start welcoming her as family just yet. Honestly, who was he kidding? There was a good chance that he would never be ready to welcome her as family, but at least he could say that he had taken the first step towards maturity. 

“You look nice. I was surprised to see you as part of the wedding party.” @lucytremaine​

It had been a nice ceremony. People had cried, someone had mention the significance of the moment, she’d done that 37 Dresses thing of watching the groom as the bride walked down the aisle to be reminded of the power of love, and Lucy had only mentally been planning what she would steal and what she would leave behind for her own wedding for like... 30% of the time.

So yeah. A solidly good day. But the night was still young, and the reception was really just getting underway. Having found a moment alone after a bit of socializing, to say that Lucy was surprised by the sudden appearance of Tristan Charming would be an understatement. Required invite? Or was Olivia White actually his friend?

“Thanks,” Lucy nodded, keeping her expression neutral as she looked over him, but not returning the compliment. Something about his words about being surprised... rubbed her the wrong way. Maybe that’s why she was approaching the conversation with the amount of apprehension that she was. “Isle kids are capable of friendship too, as I’m sure you’re aware. We’re friends. Would never have passed up the opportunity. Now, I know they were keeping things small, but was your sister just super busy this break or was she not invited?”

Ally: yeah yeah for sure! I could ask my parents to borrow a boat to get you there if you'd like?

Ally: not that I'm not excited you're messaging me but...why couldn't you ask fitz? Or is this hush hush. Because I warn you I'm very very very very VERY terrible at keeping secrets.

LUCY: i'm more worried about the whole... getting across the barrier and being allowed back thing to be honest. it's a day trip and i don't know if we're really supposed to come and go as we please like that.

LUCY: which is where you come in. you meet me at the barrier when i give you the signal to in order to ensure i'm allowed back in a timely fashion.

Ally: oh hey lucy! It's great to hear from you! What's going on?

Ally: I'm totally here to help \^-^/

LUCY: at this current time i'd actually like to keep the details vague.

LUCY: hey. it's lucy tremaine.

There was never really a moment when he wasn’t in awe of her, but it seemed he was even more so when it came to things like this. She seemed so naturally in control of everything around her, and though Fitz knew that sort of confidence had come at a price, he still couldn’t help but be amazed by it. She had been everything he hadn’t ever realized he needed, everything he had never planned on having in his life. Even if they didn’t always agree perfectly with one another, he felt…lucky. With a soft smile, he approached the girl again, two drinks in his hand. He offered one to her, the smile still clearly on his face as he did so. “I know I’ve already said it and I’ll probably continue saying it for the rest of the evening, but you look beautiful, Lucy. Are you having a good time?” @lucytremaine​

Lucy was still getting over the fact that Fitz had equated their family situations. It was a comment that she’d taken extreme offense to in the moment (TWO MONTHS AGO), and normally for such a thing she could have kept up the silent treatment for way longer than she had. However, Fitz had always been an exception, and she’d been evolving ever since she’d stepped foot in Auradon, so he’d been able to work his way back into her good graces very quickly. She may have been tiptoeing around him a little ever since to ensure that she was legitimately going to be over it without making it worse, as she was wont to do, but by that point, she was pretty sure that things had officially settled and that she was 100% back in business.

That night was only further cementing that fact in her mind.

“It’s a great thing that I love hearing it,” she grinned in response to his words, raising her glass in  a faux cheers before taking a sip. “But thank you. Of course I am. I can actually feel the drama causing other people’s nights to implode and it is truly thrilling to not be involved in any of it. To just have a nice and normal formal night. And I really, truly mean that.”

“Okay, let me be clear…” Riley began as she softly grasped Lucy’s hands when the two girls were able to converse. “I wanted to tell you since day one but Luca wanted to keep things private just for a bit. And so I promised not to tell anyone.” She left out the fact that there had been a few who knew. Aurèlie, Julien, Lena and Freya if she was being specific. “And also when I said I stayed back for break… I was lying. I went camping with Luca.” Again, she left out the reason for the camping. About the deep sadness she had seen from him for a weekend straight. This was due to very personal things Luca had been going through since a few weeks prior, things that he hadn’t even spoken to her about, and it just wasn’t anyone’s buisness. 

“I hope you’re not mad at me for not telling you. Elijah doesn’t even knew because I knew he’d spill the beans to you and I wanted to tell you myself.” She took a deep breath when she finished speaking, smiling brightly at her friend, feeling a weight lifted off her shoulder. “So, what have you been up to? You look incredible, by the way.” @lucytremaine​

Lucy had taken note of Riley and Luca from essentially the second she’d walked into the ball, and it had taken everything in her to not approach them immediately. Luckily she’d soon found a myriad of other things to distract her, and she’d therefore been able to ignore the dozens of questions popping into her head for her friend.

That was, until Riley finally approached her and began to spill. And a slight frown appeared on the shorter blonde’s face. She wasn’t mad. Not really. She had maybe thought that they were at the level of friendship where she would be an exception as opposed to being lumped in with everyone else. And that Riley wouldn’t lie to her. But... if absolutely no one else knew, it wasn’t actually bad.

It maybe felt a little weird, but it was still understandable and therefore it was nothing Lucy was about to hold against her... right? “I’m happy for you,” Lucy made sure to say upfront, the details not being so important in that exact moment. Well... except for one. “When exactly was day one?”

Shrugging off the girl’s question in favor of continuing to ask questions of her own, Lucy accepted Riley’s compliment with a thrilled ‘thank you’ before offering Riley a compliment of her own. “Right back at you, of course. But I don’t think you could ever not look incredible. Will you be going home for this upcoming break, by the way?”

EMERALD: i mean, all arrows point that way. everyone who was acting off their ass had the punch, those who didn't have it were fine? yeah, consider yourself lucky, that stuff gave me a massive hangover.

EMERALD: yeah i was always wondering what was going to happen after VKs graduated. don't get me wrong, i don't a problem with you guys being here at all, but the people who own the companies and businesses out here are old school royals so...it's gotta be tough.

EMERALD: i'll check in with her soon, it's been a while since we spoke but, hopefully she realizes as former tri delt president that this is ridiculous.

LUCY: do you remember how you felt when you drank it? i know it made people do a bunch of crazy things, but was it like... a chaos potion or what?

LUCY: yeah... people from the isle just have to work extra hard to prove themselves as worthy in order to get even the most menial of jobs, i guess. big shocker. so looking forward to my eventual graduation.

RILEY: well yeah! Of course there was a few people that didn’t go home, mostly kids from the Isle, so I wasn’t by myself the whole time. Like, 80% of the time.

RILEY: it sounds like we should go to Tiana’s and catch up. Or even have a sleepover or something. But if we do that I think your place would be better since my home is so crowded.

RILEY: No food fights or anything? Good! And everyone better be nice.

LUCY: And the other 20%?

LUCY: I just hate to think of you spending the holiday all alone when you were definitely missed in Tangleton.

LUCY: Or both. But I think a sleepover could be arranged. I'm sure Del and Adelaide would be cool with you coming over!

FITZ: Can't say that really surprises me just...be gentle with him please.

LUCY: I will be.

LUCY: I still want him to like me, obviously.

FITZ: I'm not saying no it's just...Jules and I are still working on stuff and I don't know. it just feels weird.

EMERALD: well you just have to narrow it down to who would have the ability to enchant whatever punch everyone was drinking. i know it made me embarrass myself to the tenth degree.

EMERALD: well, welcome to auradon where they only think short term and never long term. first greek row, now the saplings, tomorrow they'll be doing something else without thinking of what's to come next. it's bullshit to be honest. i can try talking to beatrice, see if mayb she can talk some sense into fairy godmother.

LUCY: and we know for a fact that it was the punch that was enchanted, right? i'm glad i didn't have any. my mistrust in drinks at frat parties was bound to come in handy at some point.

LUCY: oh, like how a bunch of students from the isle were invited to study here but no one knew if they'd be forced to return upon graduation until, essentially, graduation was already upon them. we love a kingdom that thinks things through.
