đźđđş  đđ¸đˇđˇđźđđş.  could  life  be  more  tedious  than  a  targ  getting  married?  and  he  was  being  forced  to  suffer  through  an  affair  that  quite  literally  was  killing  his  brain  cells  having  to  sit  through.  so  much  pomp  and  circumstance  â  and  for  what?  slowan,  since  his  arrival,  counted  the  days  when  he  could  sail  away  from  this  godâs  forsaken  kingdom  and  return  to  his  usual  escapades.  because  how  much  longer  could  his  dear  uncle  keep  him?  but  the  fun  and  frivolity  werenât  completely  lost.  with  several  run-ins,  slowan  tripled  the  prospect  of  his  gratification  of  pleasure.  as  the  whispers  came  to  him  that  the  beautiful  ren  had  graced  them  with  her  present.  he  took  his  time  to  find  her,  stalking  her  whereabouts  thanks  to  some  very  helpful  maids.  all  whom  he  rewarded  with  a  few  stolen  kisses  and  mewling  of  their  satisfaction  of  amusement,  it  was  his  duty.  he  wasted  no  time  being  sure  to  be  the  first  she  danced  with  for  the  festivities.  if  for  no  other  reason  than  for  them  to  find  some  debase  delights  of  their  own.  when  the  time  came,
"my  dear  lady,â  he  whispered  into  her  ear  as  he  moved  them  effortlessly  across  the  dance  floor â those  dance  lessons  did  come  in  handy â--  you  know  how  much  i  love  to  watch  you  from  afar.  it  makes  our  coming  together  all  the  more⌠ enjoyable.â  his  grin  was  a  sign  of  his  ever-growing  affection  for  the  lady.  one  who  had  brought  him  much  satisfaction  over  the  years.  âif  you  had,  i  would  have  revealed  myself  soon  enough.  as  i,  too,  require  more  stimulating  entertainment.â  let  those  nobles  of  the  great  house  and  the  prince  plot  and  scheme.  he  had  other  matters  of  interest-  several.  and  as  the  music  came  to  an  end.  and  slowan  gave  a  final  bow,  and  he  offered  his  arm  to  her  escorting  his  lady  off  to  the  sides.  away  from  the  crowded  dance  floor.  "odd  that  the  powers  saw  fit  to  bring  us  back  together  is  such  a  'happy  occasion.â  rolling  his  eyes  at  the  thought  of  his  cousin.   "we  could  always  sneak  away,  or  perhaps  you  would  like  another  dance.  i  do  enjoy  having  you  in  such  open  and  close  proximity.  there  is  all  sort  of  places  in  the  keep  we  can  watch  and  enjoy  ourselves.  if  you  allow  it,  of  course.â Â
chuckles spill out of rose colored lips as lilac hues roll playfully at the claw isle lordâs honey coated words. slowan always had a way with his words, easily captivating his prey like moths drawn to a flame. serenei however wasnât easily swayed by them, knowing his kind all too well, but she will not deny the fact that she does enjoyed being filled with sweet nothings; she didnât even try to hide the smirk on her face either. dancing, she found, was too trivial and if it were not her own cousinâs wedding, serenei would have opted to sit down at her table the entire night. alas, she must join in on the celebrations. it was a good thing her lady mother taught her well with the dances thinking that sheâd one day use them. though, she had found entertainment elsewhere at one point in the night but that did not last very long upon her return to the great hall. âso youâve seen me displeased the entire night and not once did it cross your mind to pluck me out my miserable situation? where has our friendship gone, lord slowan?â feigning disappointment. âwell it is a good thing weâve chanced on each other tonight then. you very well know how entertaining and stimulating i can be.â her voice low, almost like a hum, her words only meant for his ears.Â
serenei curtsied and lightly grasped on the lordâs arm, letting him guide her away from the dance floor. she was happy to be away from it too. the music may have ended but the didnât mean they part too. had slowan been some other lord, serenei would have instantly disappeared after the dancing however, for him, she would not dare ruin their amusing reunion. âiâd imagine to run into you everywhere else but a wedding. this completely out of character for you,â serenei teased as she picked off a wine goblet from a passing servantâs tray finding herself parched from the dancing earlier. âsneak away? you would have me disappear from my own cousinâs wedding? where i am literally one of her only family?â her brow perked up as she brought the goblet, acting offended at the thought when really her mind has already travelled elsewhere. âwell, i could possibly be enticed,â the side of her lips tugging to form a lopsided smile. âi hear plenty of stories about the red keep. the halls, the tunnels, the secrets it keep.â
