the way that stede and mary grew to really be genuinely happy with their lives and happy that they helped the other achieve that as well. the way that stede seems so bustling with life and joy when he says "I think I've solved it. all of it, my return, our newfound loves" and the fact that doug and mary are so happy for him and them and the kids are glad to help him shed the parts of his old life that were holding him back without getting rid of the parts he truly cared about. the fact that they all get to be content with their lives, they're being creative, they're surrounded by people they love. like stede literally saw another man fucking his wife and at the end of the day it was like. doug's lovely and he makes mary happy and she deserves that, and stede deserves his happiness too and he can finally feel like he's allowed to enjoy his life I just.. this show is so insane I'm gonna be sick.
