“Lost In Hope” by Sergio Hernandez 1/640 by F6.3 ISO 400
When going into this shoot I wanted to tell a story of someone still holding onto hope of love, even though it may destroy them. Her eyes being focused on the ground below. The young lady creates a sense that she is down/sad. As for the flowers they represent the hope she still has. Hope that they may come back, but reality had a different choice for them. When talking to them, we talked back n forth of past relationship experiences and how they effected our health and well being. Speaking on that created this dreadful emotion where she looks vulnerable and lost. We went to “St Francis University,” this place was great because it was built on the idea of religion so it almost looked like a church school. The idea of religion adds to the idea of hope. When we originally got here I wanted to get the idea of widow still having hope that there significant other is still watching over them. But during the conversation while taking photos we created something similar to heartbreak, lost and disbar. After taking a look at this photo what kind of story does it say to you?
“I’ll be Damed” Sergio Hernandez 1/3200 by F5.6 ISO 400
The time was around 3 in the afternoon when i took this photo, it happened not to make any effect to the sky but the weather was mostly cloudy this day which added to the mood, it gives off a peaceful tone almost as watching life continue from a far away space. the way the water flows from the middle right to the bottom left of the photo gives you a visual idea of how this dam was aligned with the water.
“Forest Mirror” Sergio Hernandez 1/160 by F10 ISO 400
This is Sophie, I chose her to be my model for this project because she's very easy to collaborate with and has the ability to change her perception whenever she wants. I chose this to be a setting I wanted her to be in because the mirror gives off the effect that she's staring at herself, without the need of making it look like an everyday selfie. I wanted a calm facial expression like if where she was is natural part of who she is.
“Stairway of the forest” ISO 400 F13 @ 1/40
The rhythm in this photo looks almost as if it’s a never ending pattern the way those stairs create a never ending allusion all the way to the top middle of the photo. I also love that the wood in here has a greenish tone to it giving it age and character. It matches with the rest of the brown and green that surrounds the stairs. The viewer is drawn to this imaginary line the stairs creates that grabs the viewers eyes and brings them from the bottom to the top is great and really makes the viewer get sucked into whats going on here.

“Chosen Path” ISO 400 F13 @ 1/60
I happened to capture this photo at Starved Rock here in Illinois. last month I made a trip here with my friends and just happened to be a great place to take photos. this pathway appears once you get deep into the forest trail, it creates this line that leads the viewers eyes from bottom to the top of this photo.
“Lean On Me” Oakhurst forest preserve, Aurora, Sergio Hernandez, Feb 2022 ISO 400, F3.5 @ 1/2500
I originally wanted it to be dead center, but after taking a slight turn I realized being parallel with the chair made the attention more towards the chair. i leaned it against the tree because I wanted to grab the audience eyes and make them look from the chair, to the tree, then capture the background, from left to right.
“Sit, Down,” Snowy Riverwalk, Naperville, Sergio Hernandez, Feb 2022 ISO 400, F3.5 @ 1/640
I really tried to place the black leather chair in a manmade natural setting. The way the black pops out from the chair off from the stone wall mixed with that pure white snow. I learned that if I set the chair more to the right I could make the stair set on the left a little more interesting without have to sacrifice the chair losing its interest.
“Leaf Chameleon” Sergio Hernandez, Feb 2022 ISO 400 F5.6 @ 1/60
In this photo I tried to make the leaf the main object. The leaf sits in the middle separating the ice and the rusty sewer drain. The leaf’s natural brown with a small purple tone makes it blend well with the rust almost looking as a part of the sewer drain.
“Snow Dust” Sergio Hernandez, Feb 2022 ISO 400, F5.6 @ 1/800
One thing I love the most about this photo is the crystal dust like texture that's created from the snow on top of the sewer drain, The dark rust layer that's under the snow grabs me towards the dark oval shaped holes to witness the snowy ground inside that you can just barley see. I'm glad how great I was able to pop out that darkness just a little bit without sacrificing the nice shade of white on top of the drain.

The Kiss by the Hotel de Ville taken in Parisian street in 1950. arguably one of Doisneau’s best photos ever taken. this photo was staged and was taken for a article in Life magazine titled “French love” hundreds of thousands of copies where made for posters and postcards but wasn’t well known until the 1980s. A lot of lawsuits where created because of this photo was made. For awhile everyone thought this photo wasn’t staged because Doisneau never said it was and when a couple came and told him that they where the ones in that photo when he knew he staged it, well his response was he didn't want to break there romantic moment. This photo grabs you into what the streets of France looked like and what you could possibly see. “I don't photograph life as it is, but life as I would like it to be.”— Robert Doisneau
Un Regard Oblique,1948 photo was taken at “Romi’s art gallery in the 5th arrondissment” he apparently hid the camera right behind an old chair. And took photos while people walked by. In this particular photo the Lady is looking down at the window while the man is caught staring at a unusual photo of a naked woman (which wasn't commonly seen at the time). Photo was taken for life magazine when Doisneau was working for Rapho agency back in the 1940s. (https://iconicphotos.wordpress.com/tag/robert-doisneau/)
this is Robert Doisneau. He was born in April 14, 1912 and died April 1st, 1994, was born in Gentilly, Val-de-Marne, Paris. Was known for his Avant Garde style photography. His ideas where more shocking and bold, viewed socially and aesthetically objectionable. His creative style in street photography got him well known after world war 2.(https://www.britannica.com/biography/Robert-Doisneau)
This is a bad photo right here. its way to bright in the sky and there's no detailed effect. and with the vehicle you can’t really see a whole lot that's happening.
this is a good photo i took a few months ago. you can really see the full vibrant colors smushing onto of each-other creating this wonderful almost cotton candy effect in the sky
