SERENDIPITY

Hi. I'm a woman who dreams like you, wakes like you, hopes like you, prays like you, weeps like you and loves passionately like you do. You are I and I am you and you are we. We are all connected in the universe and we are all meant to seek and pursue Godly relationships with one another. This page is my hand out to you. This is my story and others stories as well. I am at risk for Huntington's Disease. I hope that I may enlighten Huntington's Disease to whomever I may reach. This incurable disease has been left in the shadows of more publicized health concerns such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. Ironically enough, Huntington's (HD) could be described as a severely drastic combination of both Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. Although, HD is a hereditary disease, which means it can be passed down from parent to child. "More than 15,000 Americans have HD. At least 150,000 others have a 50 percent risk of developing the disease and thousands more of their relatives live with the possibility that they, too, might develop HD." Also, "Until recently, scientists understood very little about HD and could only watch as the disease continued to pass from generation to generation. Families saw the disease destroy their loved ones' ability to feel, think, and move." The lifespan for an individual who has been diagnosed is between 10-30 years following the diagnosis. Through out my blogs/posts I will go further in depth explaining HD, with an ultimate goal to spread the word to more people. Fight the Cause, CURE HD!
