“She wanted to be alone, but not lonely. That was very different; that was something that ached and hurt dreadfully right inside one.”

I have learned that when sadness comes to visit me, all I can do is say “I see you.” I spend some time with it, get up, and say goodbye. I don’t push it away. I own it. And because I own it, I let it go.

Sometimes suffering is just suffering. It doesn’t make you stronger. It doesn’t build character. It only hurts.

I long to go back

I’m learning to love the sound of my feet walking away from things not meant for me.

“Don’t think about what can happen in a month. Don’t think about what can happen in a year. Just focus on the 24 hours in front of you, and do what you can to get closer to where you want to be.”
