When creating the image, I was thinking about how Soren would want to honor Ike's memory. Ike would be primarily celebrated as a wartime leader who felled a Goddess, so his statuary would reflect his seriousness and victory. Soren would want to show that he was seen as something other than just a hero, so he might plant red roses around his grave. Even if the statue doesn't depict Ike the way Soren wants, he can't help revisiting such an accurate depiction of him just to remember what his face looked like, with new candles in hand, cleaning it and maintaining it, even if other parts of the cemetery have fallen to dust.
