Order Of The Harvestguard

Before there was nothing… there were monsters. 

Across the realm of Visland, monsters roamed across land, sea, and sky. The different tribes ruling their own respective territories, and at times warring with and taking them from one another. The land was ruled by what monsters valued the most. 

Strength. 

Absolute. 

Unparalleled. 

So great was their power, that even the gods who had ruled and descended from beyond the stars to confront them, couldn’t bring their foes to heel, and had chosen to simply leave them to their own devices. 

At least until man had found its way to the realm. 

Compared to monsters and gods alike, man was weak and fragile. But where they lacked in strength, they made up for in relentlessness. Even pushed to the brink of extinction, they refused to yield. And upon seeing this tenacity from afar, the gods decided to bestow them their aid. 

Weapons, created of divine origin, along with the power to seal away even the mightiest of the monsters. With these advantages, the tides turned, and man was able to claim the realm for itself, suppressing what monster tribes remained so that they could never take back control. Mankind established monarchies, forged treaties among many of the other species of Visland, fostered their own magical abilities, and reshaped the realm in their image.      

And the one who had led mankind to their new era, was the first Queen, who had wielded the first of the divine weapons. For this reason, her throne was set above all others, and she and her descendants' words became law throughout the realm. 

Since the first era, the realm of Visland has always had the members of the Harvestguard to protect it. The nine most powerful knights who stand against anything that would threaten the land’s inhabitants. And this generation is the strongest yet. But the threats coming may be too large for even them to contend with…

Army: The Shields

The most powerful and influential of the monarchies. Their ancestor the First Queen was said to have wielded the first of the divine weapons gifted from the gods, and their word carries the most weight within the CoG. They are the only family who can enact laws throughout the realm without the consent of the rest of the Council, and boast the largest army of the monarchies. They rule over the centerlands, placing them in the middle of the continent so that they may ‘rule everyone equally’. This gives them access to various resources and lands that would normally only be accessible to individual monarchies. This also leaves them in a rather disadvantageous place when it comes to defending their lands, though their elite fighting force, the Shields, make such a disadvantage more an inconvenience than anything.

Chelidora is the heir to the noble branch of the Dory family, her father having married into it from the Halo monarchy. Kind, caring, and an expert in the technical aspects of magic and medical skill, she is considered a prodigy. She keeps her status as one of the Harvestguard hidden from most of the public, preferring to focus on her work in the medical field. Despite her polite and nurturing attitude however, she can be quite strict, and is surgical on the battlefield as she is on the operating table. Her weapon is Longinus, a lance that pierces through all in its path, and has adapted to both her own magical and medical power.

"People actually smiled when I showed up to help them... I didn't know how great that actually could feel!"

The heir to the Dory Monarchy, and the youngest and newest member of the Harvestguard. Admiring her brother’s strength and skill from a young age, she resolved to join him on the battlefield to bring peace across Visland. The day came much sooner than expected however, and though her massive magical power is untrained, she has been bestowed the title of the knight of joy. Her weapon is Gungnir, the divine weapon that has always picked its wielder from among the Dory family. It is the first time it has chosen a wielder in some generations. While possessing the largest quantity of magic and raw power, she is far behind the others in skill and control.

The captain of the order, and considered the strongest warrior in Visland. Once seen as little more than a bastard of Queen Kosma, the prince of the Dory Monarchy earned legitimacy through his feats on and off the battlefield, and has projected both honor and overwhelming strength in equal measure across the realm. His mere presence has become a deterrent for many of those who would cause harm to the people who inhabit the land. He wields Harpe, the most picky of the divine weapons, and has earned the epithet of the ‘Roaring Blade’. He was the one who personally picked the current generation of the Harvestguard, and has controversially picked several monsters among the group. A first in the entire history of the order.
