So, if we assume Lute is Eve, their narratives are quite similar.

Both are characters who used to be lovable, then an action they take goes extremely wrong and they end up changing completely.

Because of this past experience, they end up adopting a new belief, which is the same one the protagonist challenges.

[+ this same belief is implicitly held by someone important to them]

An important person to them dies, and this person ends up haunting their narrative.

They put this important person on a pedestal, but they are far from being the best person in the world [they aren't necessarily evil, but they have questionable attitudes and opinions].

Both can be quite cruel when they want to be.
