Familial Soulmates, Platonic Soulmates, Romantic Soulmates, Enemy Soulmates — if you can Twist a Relationship of any kind into a Soulmate for the Good or Bad of your characters, it counts!

In the event of receiving a question through a message, a mod will answer via messaging back and then making a general post that won't be connected or tied to anyone asking about the topic!
We are a Prompt-a-Day Event with a Side Element of a few Prompts set for the Week for you to use as well!
All Works have to be relating to Soulmates in some way. We want everyone to be creative with their prompts, even if 'Soulmate' is a background element!
This event will allow the works of NSFW prompts, though they will be their own post separate from our SFW prompts.
Soulmates September Timeline

Prompt Selection will be done by the mod(s) unless there is a large amount of prompts!
If there are 100 or less prompts, the mods will choose the prompts, if there are more than 100, Voting will open for anyone interested in participating
Prompt Release will be posted April 25th.
Posting Period is from September 01st to September 31st according to your own timezone.

Hey all! Figured as we slowly make our way to the beginning of Soulmate September, we would release the rules and FAQs (that are absolutely based off of our fellow Month Events, so thank you to every month event ever)!
We'll Begin with the Rules
Absolutely NO A.I.
If it is found that you have used A.I., your works will be removed from the Ao3 Collection.
Properly Tag Your Works.
This Event is very open ended and Lightly Moderated, so we are not moderating on whether or not your works are Safe for Work or Not.
Despite talking as if we are a collective, there is only One Moderator. Not everyone is going to want to read a work about NSFW or Dark or Whump topics, Not everyone is going to want to read Angst or Hurt/Comfort or Fluff. Properly tag, please.
A lot of other things that would be in rules is also heavily touched on in the FAQs, but if there's something you think we should add, feel free to let us know!

Who can Participate?
Everyone! Whether you create Edits, Fanart, Fanfic, Mood boards, Collages, Scrapbooking, ect..! Get creative with it!
Is NSFW Allowed or is it just SFW?
NSFW is allowed for the event! This event allows NSFW and will have a NSFW list of prompts!
We ask that you tag everything appropriately and any writing be under a keep reading so that we can reblog your work while knowing that any minors who happen across our page or participate in our event are safe.
How do I tag?
We would love it if you could tag your works / creations using #SoulmateSeptember, #SoulmateSeptember2026, and/or #Soulmate September 2026 so that it is easier for us to find your works and reblog them!
We would also like it if you could add what day your work / creation is for and what the prompt was, just to make it a little easier. Example: #SoulmateSeptember Day One, #Soulmate September Prompt
Is there an Ao3 Collection?
There will be an Ao3 Collection that will be added here during the Month of August. It will open on September 01st and will stay open from the Month of September and Onwards.

Do I have to write or create for all the Prompts?
Absolutely not! You can write for as many or as little prompts as you would like!
This event is meant to be fun for everyone, and not everyone can write all the prompts, or may not be inspired by a specific prompt and not want to create for it.
Can I combine prompts with another event or bingo?
Absolutely! Encouraged even!
What Fandoms are allowed?
This is a Multi-Fandom Event, meaning any and all fandoms are allowed! Original Work and OCs are allowed! RPF and Nameless/Generic are welcome!
Just a note: but I will not be reblogging any works pertaining to Harry Potter or any Harry Potter Adjacent, like the Marauders, due to Her influence, Her harm, and Her advocating and funding Anti-Transgender / Transphobic Campaigns and Bills.
Can I combine prompts?
You cannot combine days in a single chapter, but you can make multi-chaptered works, each chapter can be for a different day! It would be preferred if you posted the days in order, but we cannot stop you from doing things out of order and having fun with the event!
We will be trying to reblog any and all works that are posted for the event during the month of September!
Is there a Minimum / Maximum Word Count?
Nope! Write as little or as much as you want!
Do I have to post my work to AO3, or can I just post it to Tumblr, or a different site?
You can post to Ao3 or Tumblr! Does not have to be both or one over the other!
When posting to Tumblr, make sure to use our tagging system and / or tag our account @september-soulmate!
What if I have more Questions?
Feel free to send us an Ask! We can't answer a question we don't know someone has, so feel free to send in an ask, whether on Anonymous or Otherwise. And who knows, maybe someone else had the same question but just didn't have the confidence to ask!
If you don't feel comfortable sending in an ask, you can also message the Soulmate September account directly! Questions will be answered to you directly and then a post will be made so that it can be answered anonymously as well!
