Directly compare this to the current culture in predominantly US American spaces of constant surveillance of transfemmes to punish us the moment we slip up, once we prove we aren’t “one of the good ones”. It’s a direct evolution of this same colonial expectation to the point it’s done “naturally” even when not directly expected after generations of it being part of the US’s social contract.

ASCA (Adult Survivors of Child Abuse) provides group meetings for adult victims both in-person and online, along with their own list of resources for child abuse victims

HAVOCA (Help for Adult Victims of Child Abuse) is a similar organization with a forum for survivors, support groups for victims, and resources to find a therapist

stop the silence is a department of the institute on violence, abuse, and trauma providing specialized programs related to CSA. they help fund training for professionals and trauma therapy. they take donations to help further their work.

psychology today has an online database of therapists, psychiatrists, and support groups within the US. you are able to filter by treatment modalities, what they specialize in, what insurance they take, etc.

RAINN has a phone, text, whatsapp, and online hotline for victims of rape, incest, and abuse. services are available in english and spanish.

FORGE has a free PDF of resources for trans victims of sexual violence

take it down is a service offered by the national center for missing and exploited children that helps victims of CSEM take down sexually explicit content of themselves produced before they were 18. stop NCII is a similar resource for adults.

not prioritizing the things you think are actually important feels bad!

so does seeing work so big that you can't imagine any progress being made.

doing something practical to act on your principles, ideally with other people, can make you feel more like yourself.

"If you insist on breaking the cardinal rule, then you must follow these other rules:

2. Proper tone is crucial- feedback must be given calmly. If any emotion is displayed, the feedback is invalid and can be dismissed.

3. There must be trust between us. You must trust that I am in no way racist before you can give me feedback on my racism.

4. Our relationship must be issue-free - if there are issues between us, you cannot give me feedback on racism until these unrelated issues are resolved.

5. Feedback must be given immediately. If you wait too long, the feedback will be discounted because it was not given sooner.

6. You must give feedback privately, regardless of whether the incident occurred in front of other people. To give feedback [publicly] is to commit a serious social transgression. If you cannot protect me from embarrassment, the feedback is invalid, and you are the transgressor.

7. You must be indirect as possible. Directness is insensitive and will invalidate the feedback and require repair.
