returning to online realms

I’m obsessed with Aretha Franklin.

My writing + music practice  is concerned with grief-cartography poetics and seeking for answers about living as a traumatized body. This project is my ambient research-informed experience that works at re-narrativizing the murder of his eldest sister, Jasmine Moss, who was expecting her first child. She was murdered by the baby’s father, her estranged boyfriend at the time. The songs in this project are pieces of bereavement rubbed against calls for jubilance amid the heart-aching fight with never abating grief. To have lost a close sibling early in my adolescence was malleable to who I would become, but in this project I takes my memories of death, family, and survival to be integral to my outlook, yet not the overarching narrative of his destiny. For me there is still life to live and rain to listen to.

When I meditate, I usually picture myself laying in a stream where the water ends up being carried out into the ocean nearby. Whenever a thought/picture/memory pops up, it somehow materializes and flows into the ocean.
