Why those kind of fucking homestucky pieces of texts keep popping up to add little to no information to the scenes. ¿The authors assume i'm too fucking stupid to follow on the action? Well, giving how fucking egregious is the transition between panels is, probably, but more often than never, it's uncomfortable for me because that didn't feel part of the original work, and cool, innovation? But the thing is i have this kind of interventions so associated to Homestuck it feels categorically wrong to see them here, like, ¿¿¿why???

In Homestuck this was part of the aesthetic, the personality of the comic, and more often than never, those messages were a reflection of the characters associated with them and offered a nice point of contrast with the rather still sprites of the early parts (although it keeps popping up in the future, but feels more like its signature, something is so part of it to drop, given how even in the animated pilot they keep doing it) and work as a supplement to the background and quick and clumsy animations.

Given the fact Homestuck run on videogame logic EVEN BEFORE SBURB EVEN RUNS makes all future events work rather well. The text offered that videogame perspective, naming silly moves and techniques, from very silly ones to even heartbreaking moments (YES I CRIED WITH HOMESTUCK, I WON'T HIDE MYSELF).

¡¿BUT WHAT IS ITS PURPOSE HERE?! ¿¿¿BESIDES POINTING AT THE OBVIOUS??? It even has a different font from the annotations which indicates onomatopeyas and actions, ¿Why is it here?

Every single damn time i see them i roll my damn eyes bcz i can't stand them, they have budget and skill for a damn good SHOW DON'T TELL, because i feel that's my issue: They're cowards who fear we won't fucking follow the action. The need to explain over and over and over and over again what we should get from the panels is infuriating, because if it isn't done with those homestucky annotations, is made with narration lines or adding lines to the characters not present in the original work.

Like, ¿what are we doing people? ¿We're so braindead nowadays people fear we won't able to follow sequencial art or a fucking flashback? That dialog of N is new AND OFFER FUCKING NOTHING, MORE SHOW AND TELL WHICH MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I'M STUPID. THIS IS TARGETED AS A WORK FOR TEEN', AND AS A TEEN WE WERE READING AT SCHOOL "EL TÚNEL" DE ERNESTO SABATO, I CAN FUCKING HANDLE A BIT OF COMPLEXITY IN A COMICBOOK.

Sigh... I love murder drones, drones asesinos, дроны-убийцы, whatever. The characters are interesting and the world is damn cool, were unlike Homestuck, i read it more as a simulation rather than a videogame, give how software seems to have so much power. Because i love it it makes me so damn mad when things are so poorly handled.

We're all kicking this dead horse, i know, but hell, ¿if we can kick it hard enough so it can spontaneously combust so glitch and co learn what to not do for future works? Will be fucking worth it.

I wanna love the comic, but in many aspects is really shit, my annoyance about those silly annotations is just a minor detail in the can of worms. But a silly detail it triggers my anger so fucking badly.

SS: To think i used to hate calligraphy so fucking much. For me it was punishment, since every week, my teacher would send me home with a different short story to go and rewrite in an attempt to improve my calligraphy. It never worked.

And i hated it.

And yet here we are fifteen years later, practicing calligraphy as i try to make a custom script (both cursive and print) for a conlang.
