Jinwoo can basically store anything in his magic space/storage/whatever it's called because I forgot. What are some of the weirdest things he has in there that he forgets about?

Firstly there's lots of lint. Because.

Jinwoo is also basically like a father of a newborn baby in that he over packs with his infinite space. Anything Jinah could ever need, he has a copy in his space. A spare change of clothes, a set of formal outfits just in case. Makeup, phone charger, anything and everything Jinah would need if she ever needed to leave home for a week in an emergency.

Whenever Jinwoo spots a good sale, he can't resist. He has the money to never need to wait for something to go on sale, but habits are habits. And like, yeah, home already has a working rice cooker, but just in case it fails, isn't this new rice cooker that's 50% off a great steal? Into his storage space the purchase goes!

Eventually, Jinwoo has more than enough home goods to open up his own store... ahahaha... So he cleans out his storage every now and then and donates said goods to charity.

Anyways, it becomes something that Jinwoo is known for. He passes a random person on the street and hears said person cursing that he can't find a pen. Jinwoo whips out a pen and gives it to the stranger. During a press event, Jinwoo passes a period pad to a reporter who quietly (but not quietly enough for S ranked ears) whispered to a female coworker, asking for a pad. He gives a thick warm and new winter coat to homeless people on the street while visiting the US.

There’s a lot of deserted and wrecked areas both from battle and from people fleeing areas with frequent gate spawns - making the gate spawns worse as people left bc higher odds of no one noticing a gate before it dungeon broke. There are also tons of people in refugee camps almost certainly.

And Jin-Woo has this huge MFing army, some of which specifically enjoys construction and like, all of which would love to do something useful for him.

So like, he goes to Jin-Ho’s dad, who owes him for curing his eternal sleep, and is like, Beru says he knows everything necessary to build a city from scratch/with materials scavenged from ruins from eating ants who ate people, can you have people test him and confirm? Since the dad runs a construction company.

And then calls… has Jin-Ho call Habitat for Humanity and the refugee representative groups, and is like, here’s a bunch of money to buy ruined land with, tell me where to go and I will drop off my shadows to get rid of all the unsafe wrecked stuff and build you nice places to live. But they mostly only know Korean architecture and building codes so if you want something specific talk to Beru.

The trial run is Japan, which trusts him, getting help tearing down the buildings in Tokyo and the surrounding area ruined by the giants and building new ones, which is when Beru finds out more about designs for environmental buildings with integrated trees and gardens and since food supply was a major limiting factor for the JeJu ant colony…

Jin-Woo is like ‘yes good’ to public free food gardens as a person who spent years trying to make sure his little sister ate healthy on little money. Jin-Ah is also ‘yes do that’ bc she wants to be a doctor and like, the impact of the gates and resulting econ damage on people’s access to healthy food would have been bad.

So there is a lot of camera footage of dragons pushing down skyscraper wrecks and ants in hard hats, and a lot of cities/towns/villages where the shade trees on the bottom levels of buildings are fruit trees and the parks have ornamental varieties of vegetables (incl vegetable protein sources? nuts and interesting potatoes absolutely, but the nut groves are in marked parks instead of streets people need to use in case). And the governing bodies of the new cities have to either sign a pledge to maintain that stuff or let some of Jin-Woo’s shadows do it for them.

They also end up freezing/canning/drying/making jam and veggie chips with the stuff people don’t harvest and making that available… And just, the Shadow Army getting to be… more than a force to throw at enemies, getting to live/be considered a force for helping people and preserving life (which the rulers incl Ashborn probably thought was what they were created for until…).

Instead of ‘welcome player,’ when the real purpose of a player character is to be a plaything of a being from another world, it addresses him as Chosen One ‘you have spent years fighting for what matters to you in the face of inevitable death. Your world is in peril. Will you fight?’

Since Sung Jin-Woo has been so close to death for so long, and he did it out of love, to preserve the souls of those precious to him, even one who was given up for dead, Ashborn realizes before the start of the series that he has the capacity to become the same kind of being Ashborn is.

In the timeloops, Ashborn has been in a godawful strategic position and has been zombie apocalypsing humanity to add to his forces/preserve their souls since that’s the only way he could get into a position where he’s able to protect them, but having another Shadow Monarch to fight by his side would dramatically unscrew things. They might actually be able to win with Earth still intact (and the Greatest Fragment of Brilliant Light was created to protect a world).

…Of course, Ashborn still comes from a War World and the monarchs are going to want Sung Jin-Woo dead if they realize this pawn is about to cross the board, so he 100% will toss him in a desert full of scorpions if he doesn’t do the training he needs to do to not die. After Jin-Woo acquires Igris the daily quest changes to ‘training with Igris 1hr.’

The blurb for the Necromancer job title contained ‘assign armies of loyal soldiers to protect your important people’ and Jin-Woo reads that and finds he has already signed up. The advanced class Jin-Woo gets is ‘Shadow Co-Consort.’

This just makes me think of how the other Monarchs might react to the news. Not to mention the Rulers.

And Sung Jin-woo gets immediately snapped up at a good salary with a family health plan to make it hard for anyone else to headhunt him and assigned to babysitting the newbs and teaching them his survival skills.

Because they probably lose a lot of hunters to overconfidence, overreliance on their powers, and pure inexperience, on top of untrustworthy other hunters. Inn order to git gud, people have to survive long enough to get good, and Sung Jun-woo is the master of that.

Not just the guild’s newbies: the guild person realizes what a huge opportunity for recruitment he’s got here and cuts a deal with the Hunter Association for intro dungeon runs for newbies, open to all, which gives his guild a chance to win over the new talent.

And Sung Jin-woo has such Big Brother Energy~ So you end up with a few years where every new hunter with two brain cells to rub together and a working survival instinct had a three month-long course with Sung-ssaem and his friends making them lunches and teaching them how to watch each other’s backs and leapfrog and use teamwork to leverage power synergies. With an A-rank hunter from the guild or the association along in case they need backup who defers to Sung-ssaem despite the difference in rank, helping nip delusions of high-rank godhood in the bud (the other guilds are grateful to get such well-behaved new members out of this program!).

And then near the end of one of the training courses, a safe dungeon isn’t, and organizing tactics for a group retreat leads Sung Jin-woo to realize that he specifically is being targeted when Woo Jin-chul and the baby tanks can’t hold aggro… And he’s responsible for these kids, and he knows his sister and Mom will be well looked-after…

In the aftermath it becomes clear that some force targeted the clear choice for next head of the hunter’s association for some kind of fuckery? Like, giving phenomenal cosmic power to Sung-ssaem is *nodsnods* and indicates a being with good taste, but this punishment shit??

Sung Jun-woo’s rep in hunter circles and online as ‘the kindergarten teacher of Korea.’ On the island raid at first his former students were excited to show him how badass they’d gotten and let him be the one to get learning on the job while being looked after to pay him back, but then shit went down, Sung-ssaem went ‘not my students you don’t’ and The Kindergarten Teacher Put The Boss In Time-Out (shadow army servitude). Giant effing wyvern? ‘Sung-ssaem’s newest TA’ Sung Jin-woo putting shadow army members in the shadows of all his former students is memed as ‘the buddy system~’
