Want art of your original character? Fanart of your favourite character? A map of your fantasy world? Shoot me a message and we'll figure something out!
If you’re interested, you can message me here on Tumblr or write to me at [email protected]
Payment will be through PayPal.
Process
Once you’ve contacted me about buying a commission, I will ask you a series of questions about the piece to clarify if I am the right artist for what you want and to make sure I have all the information I need to make it what you want.
I will then give you an estimate of how long the work will take me to do. This depends to a large degree on the complexity of the piece, ranging from a few days to several weeks.
If we both agree on going forward with it, I will send you a PayPal request for payment. Once paid, I will start working on your commission.
For a painting or a map, I'll send you a few process images as I work on the commission where you can clarify anything you might want changed.
For all commissions, I will send you a preview when I’m close to done where you can request any final changes (within a reasonable degree of complexity).
Finally, you will receive an image file of the piece in question in as a PNG and/or in any other file format you might want. If wanted, I can send versions cropped to fit icon, banner, etc sizes, as well as (if applicable) both transparent and non-transparent versions.
Terms
Upon receiving a commissioned piece from me, you have the rights to post it anywhere you like, as well as adapt it as you see fit. By default, these commissions are for non-commercial use only. If you want a commission for commercial purposes, we can discuss the specifics and come to an agreement.
I will retain the right to use the piece in a portfolio context as well as for developing other work.
Should you want a refund, said refund will be based on how much work I have done on the commission at that time. I.e. you will receive an almost full refund if you request one early in the process.
If you request large changes to the piece, particularly late in the process, that may cost extra.
Fandoms
I will do fanart for any property, but it might be nice to know where my familiarity lies.
The majority of fanart I've created in the past has been for one of the following fandoms:
Dragon Age
Les Misérables
Star Wars
Harry Potter
Dungeons and Dragons
Avatar: The Last Airbender
In general, I'm familiar with a lot of RPGs (both tabletop and video games), animated shows and historical fiction.

slightly more serious less flippant version of my post from yesterday: whether you ar doing so from a point of pro- or anti- nintendo or video games it is so silly to talk about whether 'video games are more expensive now' 'video games have always been this expensive' when what you're talking about is exclusively big-money titles that you're buying on release day at full price. that's not "video games". that's "video games made for current-gen hardware by activision/nintendo/EA/etc". its like saying "Movies nowadays all have Iron Man in them"
many of the best video games of all time are made by one weird trans girl and available for free Free on itch.io. many more are made by two autistic finnish guys and available on steam for like $10. the "video gamse used to be even more expensive adjusting for inflation" thing is only true about usamerican kids who were playing the new nintendos at the time, to me as a kid "video games" were like ~$8 from a guy with a cd burner or when i was slightly older like $20 for three from the second-hand ps2 games bin. like get some fuckin perspective on the medium god damn
Screenshots from Blue Hour Odyssey. Left is of the map, right is of an event.
From the very beginning, the conceit of the game that eventually became Blue Hour Odyssey involved a lack of light and a cultural emphasis on lanterns. We explored different versions of this core idea before landing on the one depicted in the finished game.
Initial sketches of characters holding different types of lanterns.
The intent was always for the world to be dark in a literal sense, without the stories set within in it being dark in tone.
As the team’s artist, my main challenge was conveying this world without natural light without creating a gloomy tone. The game has been described as a “cosy” game and the art style is intended to facilitate exactly that — a world without sunlight, but not one without hope or levity.
Early art style exploration. The style on the left laid the groundwork for the style used in the game. The style on the right was decided against, as it doesn't convey the lack of sunlight.
The style I landed on is one of a limited palette. Rather than using black for the darkness of the world, I used hues of blue and dark purple. Most light is rendered with a contrasting orange, with the exception being the lantern light of each of our three characters. It was decided early on that each character would have an associated colour, so a relationship between them an various UI elements or items could be easily conveyed.
Hobby item icons, colour-coded according to which character uses them.
Blue Hour Odyssey is a story rich game about a group of travelers, who must attempt to keep their spirits high as they journey through a world without sunlight.
Travel from node to node, manage resources and make narrative decisions that will impact the willpower of your three companions. Be careful -- if just one character loses all hope, you must turn back!
This game is available in a "pay what you want" capacity on Itch.
