Hello everyone,

It’s been a long time, but now we’re back with some sort of event. Rather than for writers, this event is more so for all the readers in our squad.

So what is this fic club?

The fic-club is similar to literature clubs you would find at school or universities. Each month, we will choose a sekai fic to read and discuss together. Participation is voluntary, so you do not need to participate. This fic club is a pilote project with the aim to 

a) find gems in the sekai ficdom 

b) show fics more love

and c) find topics (fics) that squad members can love and talk about.

So how does it work? 

All squad members can send in suggestions for the fic of the month. You will find the link to the nominations in our discord server, so I highly recommend you to join us righ here.

By the end of the previous month, there will be a poll where you can choose the fics you would love to read. In case two or more fics receive the same amount of votes, a randomizer will choose for us. 

Once the fic of the month has been chosen, everyone is given 3 weeks time - until the 21st of each month - to read it. Please do leave a comment underneath the fic before you enter the fic club discussion on the sekaisquad discord server.

What kinds of fics are allowed? Can I suggest my own writing? 

You can suggest any fic to be the fic of the month, as long as it fits the following criteria:

It must be a completed fic. No on-going chaptered fics please!

The fic must be between 5-100k words long. ( 100k words would be a 350 pages novel )

We hope that with this, among other, future projects and events, sekaisquad will be able to grow as a sekai shipper community that is giving off good vibes ♥

This is your main mod speaking. As hinted on twitter, we have been working on a not too secret project, namely, a discord channel!

Those who have watched us over the past might have noticed the changes sekaisquad has gone under. We started as a group chat on kakaotalk, transitioned over to line chat and then became a group exclusive for fic writers on twitter for easier moderation.

We would like to go back to becoming a space for all sekai shippers to be able to talk and find friends while maintaining the fic project aspects as well, and thus have decided to open a discord server.

For those unfamiliar with discord: It is a platform similar to skype where you can both chat via text or voice, but it is also different as you can join servers that have several channels. If you’ve been in group chats on other platforms with 20+ people you might have noticed that it is difficult to maintain a conversation with so many people around. That would be less of a problem on discord as you have several chat rooms to have multiple convos at the same time.

The best thing is, that you do not need to download anything. Discord works in most browsers, so all you have to do is register for an account and then follow our invite link to enter the sekaisquad server (of course, if you like to, you can also use the desktop app on your PC or the mobile app on your phone).

So if you’d like to give it a try, do use our invite link here to join sekaisquad and make new friends in fandom and ficdom. It’s a casual chat, so you can enter and leave anytime - you don’t have to be online and active constantly.

The second sekaisquad challenge was similar to the first one, except, for this time around, we decided to have a word count of exactly 1000 words (+/- 100w) to make it a real challenge. Here’s the outcome:

Sekaisquad’s first fic fest has now come to an end.

Mods would like to say thanks to all the lovely writers who have participated in this little fest. We did not expect this many entries for a first fest, so hopefully, there will be enough interest to organize a second round later ^^

First of all, I’d like to apologize for the delay. Originally, the claiming period was supposed to start on 4th June, but due to personal reasons, I wasn’t able to organize this sooner. However, as announced per twitter, the prompts have been made accessible right away, so at least you were given the chance to check out the prompts earlier and note down the ones you might want to claim.

How have you been doing?

We know Sekai Day (4th Sept.) is still months away, but every fic fest needs thorough preparations, so here we are to announce sekaiquad's fic event for sekai day. If you've been following our twitter ( @sejongsquad ) you might know that this is just one of three fic events our writer community has planned for this year. While two of the writing challenges are community intern, the fic fest for sekai day will be opened for every sekai shipper - reader or writer - to prompt. Prompting will start today, on Sehun’s birthday :)

Everyone is allowed to send in as many prompts as you like, but please follow the guidelines and rules in the link here.

Our schedule for the fic fest is as follows:

*prompting period: 12th april ~ 30th may *claiming: starting 4th june *check-in: 6th aug *submissions: 27th aug

The prompting form will be opened until 30th May, and more details on the prompting process will be given in a later mod post.

after the big restructuring of sekaisquad it's about time to start the actual writing events that are the main focus of our little community. the mods are very excited to announce the very first of three planned events in 2017!

hello everyone, first of all, thank you for all the submissions that are not only gifts to the participants only, but other sekai shippers and sekaific readers as well. together, we have been able to write 8 wonderful fics and about 51k words in total. again, thank you to all participants who managed to finish and submit the fic and give everyone a little extra present for the festive days. we might hold more events like these in the future, so stay tuned and follow the squad's twitter @sejongsquad. and without further ado, here is the updated masterlist:
