There is now a very high potential for something major going on in the world any time or any day now within the week ahead. It has been rather quiet over the last few days. There have been a few moderate earthquakes, but still relatively low levels of activity around the globe. There could in fact be something very serious going on somewhere out there this week. Some of the target areas are Indonesia(Sumatra, the Sunda Plate), the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, China(Sichuan), Philippines(Luzon, Batan and Babuyan Islands) south of Japan, Central America, Greece, and the southwestern Pacific.
It still does not look very active out there, but it might change at any time. I suddenly felt a dramatic shift after feeling underwhelmed over the last 2 days. The places I’m really watching right now are Indonesia, Central Asia, Greece, and Central America so far. There has been a sudden increase in activity in those parts of the world. There is now a major earthquake watch for somewhere in the world. Some more seismic activity in flaring up in Southern, Central, and Northern California so far. More activity across other parts of the U.S. is possible or likely this week again. A M2.0 struck eastern Tennessee this morning.
The global seismic activity for this month could peak around the 12th through 16th or perhaps starting tomorrow. I’m not 100% positive there will be a lot going on tomorrow or this week, it can still be quiet and I could end up cancelling this watch or delay it for another few days. The Reykjanes Ridge in the Mid-Atlantic(south of Iceland) has also been acting up a bit. It is hard to tell what is exactly going on out there. I will be keeping everyone posted on X and Tumblr in the coming days.
