Derek rolled his eyes. The younger wolf would always be more welcoming than he would be. He wasn’t the type and he didn’t have the passiveness that his puppy dog friend did. “Do I look like I’m part of the committee to show you all around?” He barely tolerated Stilinski. He didn’t want to be any part of making the vampires feel at home. “I’m not staring because I like what I see. I stare because I don’t know what to make of your kind. You all have a weird energy around you and I’m trying to figure out what the hell it means. Yours is a lot darker than the others.”

DEREK.

“No, you look like you’re the head of the committee that drives people away so that the welcome sign’ll one day say population: one.” Katherine had met her fair share of broody men and Derek was no exception. She knew his type and had seen plenty of guys like him, which was why his behavior didn’t scare her off or even surprise her. When the werewolf made another comment about her species, the brown haired female automatically tilted her head with a frown dancing across her features. “We drink blood. What else is there to figure out?” she was getting the vibe that he hadn’t been around a whole lot of vampires since he looked rather flustered by her presence. Still, he was right about her energy being a lot darker than other vampires’ because Katherine did whatever she wanted. She didn’t have that strong urge to be good.

Malia didn’t have the same calloused nature when it came to murder as Katherine. Maybe because the only people she’d really killed had been members of her own family, but maybe she just didn’t have the same life experiences that made it as easy for her. Now the vampire wanted her to take a life as well? That went against the moral code she’d gotten during her time with Scott and his pack, but, she was pathetically invested now in Katherine’s approval. So she just slowly crossed over to the woman, staying behind her until she was out of public eyes before she quickly just snapped the woman’s neck, leaving her lying on the concrete like she’d tripped and it had been an accident before walking back to the brunette. “More satisfied?” A smirk etched on her lips as she looked up at the vampire. Was it her finest moment? No. But she couldn’t take it back now, and she was more invested in gaining Katherine’s favor than a girl she knew nothing about.

What could she mean by not quite? What else could the devious brunette want to do? It wasn’t enough to have Malia ready and willing for anything and reliving her traumatic past? Then she understood as the man approached them, but she didn’t move even a finger to try and stop the vampire. It was cruel, yes, but Malia wasn’t going to bat an eye at it, that’s probably what Katherine expected of her. “Yeah, his poor date.” Poor her if Katherine ever got bored of her was really her first thought, but she also couldn’t help find herself curious about how there wasn’t even a hint of guilt in the vampire. “How do you do that? Just- not care about the fact that you just murdered someone?” 

MALIA.

It was almost annoying how much Malia felt drawn to Katherine. It was more than likely just going to be trouble for the coyote. But then again, even the idea of just being the vampire’s plaything sounded better than any other plan she’d had lately. However, none of that meant she wanted to talk about her family or killing them. Of course she would anyway because it meant time with the brunette. “The first time? Guilty. Unimaginably guilty, and terrified. I didn’t know what I was then and it just, happened. But who wouldn’t feel guilty about killing their five year old sister? Now the second time, when I killed my biological mother? That felt amazing, like revenge for everything she’d done.” She’d hidden it in the moment but killing her mother and taking her powers was almost a high for the coyote. “Satisfied?” 

MALIA.

“No, it doesn’t. Never had a kid, definitely haven’t been alive for centuries.” Part of Malia wanted to have a kid, and know what it was like to be alive as Katherine had. “As for having a slaughtered family, well, I have a little experience with that, and it being completely my fault.” She was fascinated by Katherine, and she didn’t judge anyone for who or what they were, their choices, it didn’t bother her because she wasn’t the most innocent of people either. The kiss pressed to her lips suprised her but she wasn’t at all complaining. “I would hope not, how often do you get someone willing to let you torture and tease them for as long as you want? I’m rare, well, maybe once in a century, I don’t know. But still, I wouldn’t mind being around a bit longer, especially if it involves being around you.”

MALIA.

“You don’t know a thing about me, or what I’ve survived.” Malia’s life may not have been as long or brutal as Katherine’s, but it wasn’t a cake walk. She tried to make up for it by almost aimlessly searching for love, usually in the wrong places, which just added to the pain, sometimes to the list of people she lost. Yet she kept on with it, and this was more than likely another of the wrong places she’d gone to look for, at this point, any kind of connection. She’d been on her own for the past two years and it had affected her in a way that she hadn’t expected. The coyote had to bite her lip to keep herself quiet as Katherine nipped at her skin, knowing it was probably wrong to be turned on by someone prepping to do something that might actually end the coyote’s life, but she was used to doing the wrong thing. “Well finally, something vampires and I have in common, control isn’t really a thing I have a lot of. If I die, I die. Everyone dies sometime, just a matter of when.” When had she gotten so blatantly morbid? Maybe she’d been in the woods too long.
