DCI
As much as I adore FNAF 2, the DCI has always been something I steered clear of.
It's yet another part of the franchise that's so vague and plot hole-filled, that it can be hard to come up with fact based theories for it.
Why were the DCI kids deaths and purposes different? Why did William kill again? What happens to the DCI kids souls?
If you want my personal opinion? I believe their souls moved on, but potentially left behind some form of remnant/agnoy that William could work with. As to why Purple Guy did so? That's even more up to debate.
If you are a Willcare truther in the big 26? You may think it had something to do with one of his kids deaths. If you are like me, and believe he was essentially a mad, psychotic man.
A guy who was either scared of death or obsessed with the idea of immortality. A man who would go to great lengths to accomplish his goal. Possibly a mix of all three.
But of course, that's just what I personally have gathered!
The Toy's being possesed just doesn't work in my mind, they are aggressive by default/design.. there are no clear signs that anyone possess them.
If you want to bring the 2nd movie into the conversation, it's safe to say that they aren't possesed. Granted, there are no confirmed DCI kids for the movie franchise as of now.. we'll see in the future!
A Silly Rant About a Silly Series
Five Night's at Freddy's.. it certainly doesn't need an introduction on this site, or any other corner of the internet for that matter
It's a franchise that was (and still is) a huge part of people's childhoods, teen years, and even adulthood.
One thing I've observed over the years, is how neurodivergent people specifically interact with the series. As someone who is neurodivergent, it's always been interesting.
In short, the reason I believe it resonates with so many of us is because of the human-meshing-robot "trope" we see throughout practically the entire series.
I've seen many other neurodivergent folks talk about the alienating feeling many of us grew up with.
We were "too much" or "too little." Never the perfect amount.
The idea of a human being part robot, a human being a robot, etc. I believe it resonates with our "rejected" side.
Charlie from TSE especially resonated with me, I can't exactly explain why, but her overall disposition, train of thought, and emotional state left a lasting impression on me. She is basqically the blueprint for the "human-meshing-robot" trope I mentioned.
The hinted familial dynamics have always fascinated me as well... one reason I'm super excited to see more of the Afton family through the films!
...
FNAF means so much to me, it's hard to describe the excitement I feel over the it to my loved ones.
It may seem silly, but it's a franchise I'll never forget. A franchise I'll always come back to in the end. <3
