How is it that KKK isn’t outlawed in the USA? I grew up thinking it was a relic of a bad racist past in America and would never be allowed to happen again.

Two reasons: outlawing and rooting out the KKK would mean indirectly declaring war on broad swathes of law enforcement, and organizations like the KKK are useful catspaws for the US government to murder and terrorize people interested in seeing social change, like members of the black, jewish, and leftist communities, to name a few. The FBI and KKK have deep and longstanding ties, and it isn’t an accident that shitholes like stormfront, /pol/, and r_thedonald spout shit that is basically US propaganda.

Also, even though they’re not KKK in name, Washington and Oregon are crawling with white supremacy groups. The podcast Bundyville does a really thorough breakdown on them. Have y’all heard about Matt Shea, Washington state’s 4th district representative, who as of now still has not resigned after literally condoning white nationalist terrorism? Nowhere in this goddamn country is safe, or good. It’s all shot through with maggots.

There are absolutely White supremacist groups in California, the LAPD being one of them. We were looking for rentals in Palmdale and Lancaster and more than one listing said nice house but the neighbors are literal Nazis.
