Static! (and a Yellow Lantern Gear)

I'm FREAKING stoked for the upcoming series.

I have been in the Static fandom for a while and the amount of REALLY GOOD STATIC DESIGNS is kinda intimidating lol.

You don't have to be a jerk about it. The most effective yet civil way of dealing with harmful "humor" is just pretending you don't get the joke and asking them to explain. "I don't get it, what's girl math? What's a girl dinner? What do you mean by you're just a girl? Can you explain the joke to me?"

Was thinking a LOT about that one Elseworlds where Batman met Harry Houdini-thought about putting other DC characters in that world, too.

I have a whole concept set up for this AU, with Batman and Harry Houdini fighting what is effectively a 1900s version of the Suicide Squad.

Please have a moment of silence for the people who were killed instead of freed when news of emancipation finally reached the furthest corners of the american south.

have another moment for the ledgers, catalogs, and records that were burned and the homes that were destroyed to hide the presence of very much alive and still enslaved people on dozens of plantations and homesteads across the south for decades after emancipation.

and have a third moment for those who were hunted and killed while fleeing the south to find safety across the border, overseas, in the north and to the west.

if you have children, sit them down and tell them anything you know about the life of oldest black person you've ever met. it doesn't have to be your own family. tell them what you know about what life was like for us in the days, years, decades after emancipation. if you don't know much, look it up and learn about it together.
