Adam pulled at a leather cord around his neck, showing Dean the anti-possession pendant.  ”I’m not possessed,” he assured him quickly.  He crossed his arms, continuing to watch Dean warily.  ”Demons seem to be kinda freaking out recently,” he said.  ”Don’t suppose you and your brother know anything about that.”

Dean still kept a watchful eye on Adam. “Nope can’t say I do. Just rolled into town to be completely honest. Look Adam” Dean mumbled “I’m sorry about all that shit…” Dean was never really one for apologies but he knew that he did owe it to Adam. He left him in the cage to rot.

Adam arched a brow at that and let out a bitter sort of laugh.  "You're sorry about all that shit..." he repeated.  "Well, I can't say it was fun watching Sam leave the Cage and staying behind, but what else is new?"  He ran a frustrated hand through his hair.  "Honestly, though, it was me that said yes.  Not saying I'm not pissed at you and Sam still, but it was really Michael and Lucifer's fault."

Adam smiled slightly, releasing her hand after a moment.  His eyes darted to the book, and he chuckled now.  ”Demons, huh?” he asked, crossing his arms and looking at her curiously.   “Don’t tell me you’re into the occult.”

Not many people chuckled when they saw her choice of books, she looked over at him and shrugged. “Yeah Demons. No,” she smirked. “No, ‘m not in any occult. Just researchin’ for some friends.” 

"Huh," Adam said.  "You must have some weird friends, then," he mused.  It seemed unlikely that he had run into another hunter, but he supposed anything was possible.  "Demons are pretty nasty," he said casually.

“Adam,” Castiel nodded at the young man. “How did you get out of the Cage? Apologies on…

Castiel tilted his head to the side, wondering just how much pain his brothers inflicted on him for God knows how many years. He used to be such a nice, innocent young man. “Are you holding up okay, at least, back out here? How many years were you in the Cage?”

Adam managed a laugh at that.  "Hell if I know.  Sort of started losing track of time.  No one was keeping track."  He shifted uncomfortably.  The memories were there, but muted, and he wasn't fond of poking at them.

Dom smiled and shook Adam’s hand. “Dom Skylar, nice to meet you. Well, you could tell me where there is eat around here. Would love food that doesn’t come out of a drive-thru,” he said with a laugh.

“Uh-” Adam began, chuckling briefly.  ”I’m not actually from around here, just passing through.  I ate at that diner yesterday, though,” he said, pointing across the street.  ”Not bad.  Not gonna change your life or anything, but they’ve got a pretty good set up.”

“I’m sure it will do. Passing through, huh?” Dom looked across the street at the diner. “Me too, been doing that a lot lately,” he said with a laugh. “Wanna join me? If you don’t have to get going, that is,” Dom asked looking back at Adam.

"Yeah, just wrapped up a job," Adam said.  He looked over at the diner again and shrugged.  Why not, right?  "Sure.  I'm not leaving till tomorrow," he said.  Best to make sure nothing weird cropped up after a hunt, make sure it was really done.  He'd made that mistake a couple times already.  

Dom smiled and shook Adam’s hand. “Dom Skylar, nice to meet you. Well, you could tell me where there is eat around here. Would love food that doesn’t come out of a drive-thru,” he said with a laugh.
