Sarah's gonna have a trial, that's confirmed and well somehow she will definitely get off or only a little time idk what they're gonna do yet but she's definitely not leaving and it doesn't seem like they're going into a full prison storyline here either and they barely went into her feelings about prison or her breakdown 10y ago when in a similar situation which would have been interesting so it feels like she's rather a plot point than the focus here unfortunately...

Gary & Maria confuse me because they're just gonna go on holiday soon and be out of it too with no real consequences bc Maria just forgave him which just kinda like... what was the point? Was it really just so Kit would be this bothered?

Which leaves Kit which well, it seems he's now supposed to be the main focus but like the only consequence that feels big enough for how dramatic and big this whole story was/is would imo be, if he lost his job over it. Which I think they could be playing really interesting, him going off the rails bc of that... we know Sarah (tries?) to break up with him again soon and he might get involved in whatever tf Jodie's storyline is supposed to be so I can see them focussing on Kit mainly but unless he dramatically loses his job I feel like whatever they do it'd be quite dissppointing considering how many characters are deeply involved in this and then it just ends up being mainly about the guy with the least relation to the actual murder victim?
