Hi Friends!

   After achieving success with Ashton’s and Luke’s birthday drives back in July, we’ve decided to continue the trend and honor Michael’s upcoming 23rd birthday with a charity drive as well! We’re super excited to be able to do this again and we hope that we can all work together to really make a difference for and because of Michael :)

   This time around, our initiative is hoping to raise $5000 for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP)! We’ll be honest, we’re quite biased as this charity is very close to our hearts and we’ve personally supported it for several years now, but we do hope that you all (and Michael!) will appreciate our choice. AFSP “raises awareness, funds scientific research, and provides resources and aid to those affected by suicide”. They “fund research to improve interventions, train clinicians in suicide prevention, and advocate for policy that will save lives”. One of their signature fundraising prospects are community walks entitled “Out of the Darkness Walks”, which are held in hundreds of cities across the U.S. Said walks “give people the courage to open up about their own struggle or loss, and the platform to change our culture’s approach to mental health”.     You can learn more about what AFSP does in their introductory video below. They’re a wonderful organization and we hope that you guys will consider supporting them!

   If you would like even more information about their organization and/or how you can get involved, you can visit their website here or check out more of what they do on their YouTube channel!    Ultimately, we chose this charity for Michael because of how vocal he has been about his own struggles with mental health; it takes a great amount of courage to reach out and ask for help and even more courage to be honest with the world about those struggles and dark points. Michael has helped us and so many of you, we’re sure, by sharing his story, and we hope that we can let him know that his advocacy has meant the world to us. His bravery has helped us cultivate our own bravery and we couldn’t be more grateful for him. 

   Our drive will be running from August 30th, 2018 to November 20th, 2018.  We hope that you’ll join us on our mission!   And remember, please don’t stop giving (your time, effort, love, and care),
