      "Any copy, really. I misplaced mine and with an anatomy unit coming up, I was hoping I could replace it."

slam dunks all 21 of my drafts onto the dash and collapses

    "You may want to cover your ears."

    "And will you be joining us for this trip?"

    "How can I help you?"

     "What in blue blazes--!"

    "I'm terribly sorry, but I'm in a rush. If you can walk with me, I'd be more than happy to talk."

     Half in the engine compartment of the bus, she doesn't hear her visitor until he walks into her line of vision. "Oh! Forgive me, it's hard to hear much of anything in here."

   Liz is clinging to her shoulders tightly, narrowed eyes peeking out from the tangle of her hair. "Ah...forgive her. She's shy."

    "That turned out about as well as expected."

    "I'm not sure that's a good idea--"

    "Are you here for parent-teacher conferences?"

    She's kicking at the boxes that have tumbled out of the supply closet and overflowed onto the tile. "Oh, that's just lovely."

    "I think you're in the wrong classroom."

    "Uh-oh. Duck!"

     "Where in the world did I leave that paint?"
