Certain songs (on a day like this one) remind me of my first year of college, pre-Covid, when I was like so desperately unhappy and so desperate to be happy. I felt so jaded but also so green and vulnerable and unsure in the world. Listening to that music was simultaneously my way to avoid the creeping sense of failure, my way to romanticize my loneliness, and my way of bearing my situation until i met my girlfriend and understood myself a little better.
