"i do." but they liked . . her eyes, too. black holes, endless voids, surely they were portals to another universe. she stares at him for a moment longer, perhaps she did not believe him. his words felt foreign, convinced he must've been speaking a different language entirely. he wasn't though, was he? who could like such things? they were unsettling. they were not contacts and she shakes her head to prove it. "natural." unfortunately. her eyesight was grand, not poor enough to consider contacts. still, perhaps it would've been preferable to give her gaze some semblance of life. she could not convey emotion in the same way as him, not through her eyes. they were empty. "kelp." an out of place word, comment - it didn't make sense.
she gestures toward her own eyes, meaning his. "they remind me . . of the kelp forest." an underwater beauty, a sight to behold. it was nothing in pictures nor videos, it was much better in person. she's seen it, lived in it. green as far as the eye could see, large stalks of kelp swaying through the sea akin to trees in the wind. it was wonderful. "your eyes do."
