This quote really caught my eye when I started reading the book, and I thought about it during our discussion in class today. It's so true, as if we think these simple three words can sum up the torrent of emotions we are feeling when we say them. It's simply that there is nothing else we can say to express these emotions, all we are left with is 'I love you'. I say it all of the time to my best friends and to my family, but when I say it to that special person its meaning changes entirely, yet in a way not at all. I think we find love so difficult to describe because our language only has one word for it - there are no words for the love between friends or family or passionate love or comfortable love. It's just love and no matter how hard we try to understand it we never will.Ā
