Stupid motivations? How so?

Well the things they do seem sort of all over the place. When you first see them, they want to harness the power of evolution, then the next time you see them, they've just decided to get power from the windworks, after that you battle through a building they own and then abandon it just because some kid beat their boss in a Pokemon battle. Some time later they explode a lake, and then it finally turns out that their end goal was to reset the world or whatever, and it seems like most of the grunts don't know this, they're just kind of following orders. I'm not saying I don't like sinnoh or anything, it's my Favorite region, but team galactic was just sort of all over the place.
