Need a break from Clinicals and endless Study Guides?
It‘s time to trade your stethoscope for some snacks. Whether you're in the mood to laugh, cry, or escape reality altogether, here are my top movies and TV show picks to binge over the break.
And trust me on this—no charting is required.
🎞️ Modern Family
This sitcom is a mockumentary-style sitcom that follows one hilariously chaotic extended family. It is filled with heartwarming moments, laugh-out-loud misunderstandings, and way too much Pritchett energy.
🎞️ Brooklyn Nine-Nine
You think crime-fighting can’t be funny? Think again. Another fun crime-solving sitcom named— Brooklyn 99, mixes hilarious antics, lovable detectives, and surprisingly sweet moments all set in a New York precinct.
🎞️ Kim‘s Convenience
This sitcom follows the everyday adventures of a Korean-Canadian family running a small shop in Toronto, Canada. This show is a mix of heartfelt, hilarious, and a surprisingly relatable look at every Asian family.
🎞️ Suits
This Original Netflix Series shows the life of a college dropout who fakes his way into the city‘s top law firm. Suits, overall, is a sleek, fast-paced legal drama packed with witty banter, high-stakes cases, and seriously sharp suits.
🎞️ Studio Ghibli Movies
Just like my inspiration for my Tumblr feed, I also enjoy watching this Original Japanese-born anime. Upon watching the movie series, get ready to dive into enchanting worlds filled with magical creatures, stunning visuals, and stories that linger long after the credits roll.
🎞️ Nothing Hill
One of the classics. This romantic comedy film captures a humble London bookseller and a glamorous movie star crossing paths in the most unexpected way. Notting Hill is the ultimate "ordinary meets extraordinary" love story—charming, quirky, and endlessly quotable.
🎞️ Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Another romantic-comedy-action-filled film. The story goes when two love birds thought they were just a normal—boring suburban couple. Not until they discovered each other’s top-secret assassin identities.
🎞️ How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days
This, by far, is the best of the best romantic-comedy films. She‘s trying to drive him away; He’s trying to win her heart. In the end, it is all a battle of the sexes wrapped in hilarious miscommunication and iconic early 2000s rom-com magic.
🎞️ 10 Things I Hate About You
This teen rom-com brings Shakespeare to high school with biting wit, swoon-worthy moments, and a cast you can’t help but root for. And a bonus: you get to see the iconic Heath Ledger singing in the bleachers.
🎞️ 13 Going 30
What if your 13-year-old self suddenly woke up at 30? This charming, time-jumping romantic comedy film is a sweet and sparkly reminder that growing up isn’t always what we expect—but it’s full of second chances.
