He used his life savings to buy a secondhand warp arrow, and made his way to Earth, a planet he'd been interested in and had studied for many years. Things were going well up until he reached low earth orbit, where his craft suffered a catastrophic system failure, and he was forced to land in a remote patch of wilderness. The area he landed in was dotted with what appeared to be large radio antennas, likely some kind of scientific facility. It seemed abandoned, so hopefully he wouldn't have any run ins with the locals
