The Perfect Phone Mount
In the endless search for the best way to mount a phone to my motorcycle, I ask 3 questions:
Will it make my bike look ugly?
Can I attach/remove it while wearing winter gloves?
Is it safe and secure?
I believe I found the perfect set of parts for the ideal solution:
The SW-Motech GPS mount is secure and unclips leaving a minimal bracket that doesn’t spoil the looks of the bike
The Pikata phone case is able to be mag-mounted (I have a Samsung S8) and is slim, without any protruding bits (the phone can also still be wirelessly charged)
A 3D-printed cradle accommodates 2 strong magnets, protects the back of the phone from wind blast at motorway speeds so it can’t be dislodged, but also exposes the edges so it can easily be removed when, for instance, paying for fuel at a petrol station.
