❝   is this your way of comforting me?   ❞     bitter denial swells in her throat,  stained with the taste of failure  :  another loss,  another trail gone ice-cold.  it pains her,  how graciously emma has seemed to accept this,  to brush it off of her shoulders.  leia is not so patient,  nor so forgiving;  the disappointment tears at her,  wearing away her resilience,  little by little.  she is more than human,  but only slightly,  and she remains prone to these frustrations and the birth-sworn furies that follow.

                      “   aw  ,   c’moooon  ,   ”   he   drawls  ,   lets   deft   fingers   travel   down   smooth   dip   of   her   throat  .   “   you’d   do   that   t’   li’l   ol’   me  ?   ”    as   an   added   touch  ,   he’ll   push   lower   lip   out   just   a   TOUCH  ,   hazel   optics   wide   beneath   fringe  .   mock   pout   cannot   be   held   for   long   —-   he   cracks   himself   up  .   gentle   hum   from   the   captain  ,   appreciative   from   a   new   angle  .   his   head’s   canted   to   one   side  ,   &   hair   follows   suit  .    “   you   know   i’ll   tell   you   anything   you   wanna   know  .   ”
