Oof, the incessant shedding of a German Shepherd
This would freak out my parakeets. They are scared of everything.
Guess who signed up for Next Door? Well, just last year parents' house was burgled during lunch on a week day. And this is what I found on a bored weeknight checking out stuff for sale or free.
Lol it's so random... Why would this guy have a 18-year-old passenger door of a sedan? Plus someone is interested.
Anyone think this is a future episode of Investigation Discovery network?
Hereâs my recent electrical bill. All the off-peak usage is from charging my plug-in hybrid. The daily snapshot indicates that charging my car costs $0.19 per hour (1.5 kWh) and takes 5 hours on 120V outlet. So, the average cost of using the EV mode on the car is around $0.91 per month (the billing cycle is 28 days). Plus, I only filled up my car (under 10 gallons), 2 months after an initial full tank. Â

Job Search: Bad Boss Reason #1
Welp, here I go again on another job search. What prompted me to embark on this tedious and difficult process is just Iâve reached my witâs end dealing with the jackass boss. Itâs been a while since I posted, so Iâm not even certain Iâve ever written about him.
He and I do not get along. Actually, a lot of people despise him to the bone. Unfortunately, I had to report directly to this idiot. This is where I go off on a tangent with my rants. He is the worst...with 4 contributing characteristics that make a terrible person, much less a boss. He is a rich white male who grew up with a silver spoon. PUNK! Typical topics included his house with a car elevator and a hot tub, his cabin in Tahoe, his kids going to a French private school/tutor, and hosting murder mystery parties (I think his wife plans a lot of parties...I was in attendance for his 44th at their fancy-ass house in SF.) Hmm sorry, weâre working class...nope, cannot relate. Â
His personality is so abrasive in the way he speaks. You can tell in his voice he is making all kinds of judgments during your conversation with him. A common response of his is âI donât know what that means.â I take it as his challenging me or maybe heâs that terrible of a listener? His demeanor leaves a lot to be desired. This may be why so many contractors/consultants have ghosted him....lol. Our Environmental Health & Safety consultant strongly believes that his reputation precedes him. That is the reason he had such difficulties finding a contractor for a lab conversion. Â
Heâs unreasonable and controlling. Since I was the first full-time employee, I had a hand in setting up systems and process. He would task me with finding software for visitor registration for example. He would have to search HIGH and low for every conceivable option, regardless of how expensive and unlikely we would choose it. That is not only time-consuming but frustrating. With all the results in a comparison table, he would then interrogate me on the most ridiculous aspect of each. I felt like I was on the fuckinâ stand getting cross-examined! He places all decisions with the same significance...even low-risk ones, like soap dispensers! I suggested motion-sensed foam soap dispensers. He blew his top and dragged us around the facility counting damn sinks. He is a total hothead! Â
Since I donât get to make decisions, I just let him make bad ones since heâs already made up his mind. Thereâs no talking him out of him because heâs so closed-minded (either ego or lack of respect for me).  You see, people like that always self-destruct. Lol just watch it...burn baby, burn...
Hey, yâall...Iâm a legit Californian! Complete with my very own PRIUS...bahahahaha. Plug-in no less! Iâm loving my Prius Prime so far. Since my commute is short enough, I have mostly been EV mode. Once one charge was enough for my drive round trip. I can use 110V outlet and let it charge overnight. (I have mine scheduled to charge at 1 AM to take advance of the off-peak pricing.)
According to the utility company, I pay less than $0.13/kWh vs $0.21 - $0.26 (partial-peak) and $0.34 - $0.48 (peak).
I cannot get over the technological advances since my old-ass 2014 Mazda. Despite not having Android Auto, the infotainment system was a major upgrade. The voice command has been head and shoulders above my last car. Can use it to GPS any place. However, I would love to have access to my audio apps. Iâm all about my audiobooks. Â
I do enjoy the little details...the simple things:
Not having to reach for the key fob to open the door. (I used to have mine hooked to my belt loop for easy access...not the most feminine look but whatevs.)  It was so smart that I almost got locked out of the car because I was using the touch-to-lock feature on the handle but it was emitting an error beep.  Confused, I realized I had left the fob in a jacket inside the car.  It refused to lock since it detected the key inside.  WOW
The interior lights fade on as you approach. What a nice way to be greeted
Thereâs some sort of spotlight onto the shifter and the tray. Just noticed it tonight.
The little light to help you plug in your charging cord.
I LOVE how it drives in EV mode.
Being able to schedule charging times.
The flower-shaped hubcaps.
Aspects I wish were better:
One more seat to make it a 5-seater.
ANDROID AUTO!!!
Wish could squeeze a few more miles out of each charge.
More trunk space. It is virtually non-existent. With the trunk cover, you can barely fit a cart load of groceries.
Wished some of the features were more user-friendly/ intuitive.
Ugh, those damn short baby visors. I am lucky to get half of the width of my window.
Aside from the car -- UGH -- the salesman was terrible. Initially, he comes off as patient in explaining things to us. Then, I noticed the lack of attention to details. He knew I wanted the dark gray but neglected to ask about the interior and got me a car with black & white interior. I will never be able to keep those seats WHITE with my dark wash jeans.
Iâm fully embracing the Prius stereotypes. I even find this bumper sticker HILARIOUS but true (except when Iâm on EV mode, suckas!). WELP, not so great 0-60 but I can still cut off someone on the freeway no problemÂ
When he finally got the correct vehicle and I signed all the documents and ready to go, I noticed there was no gas in the tank. The dash light was on. I had to ask for the ownerâs manual!Â
Three days later, he called me to tell me he got the wrong VIN on the lease agreement. DAFUQ! I made my 4th trek over to the dealership and resigned all the documents. This fool forgot to give me a copy of the lease agreement! That is ridiculous! Then later on in the evening, he accidentally dialed my number. WOW....UGH I had to go through the process of updating my insurance company. JEEZ....
Now, I feel like I am contributing to helping with the global warming crisis. Donât get me started on those trash fools who âCoal Rollingâ us EV drivers. Just plain trash. Why donât they hook up the exhaust and inhale the black exhaust themselves? Black lungs to go with their black hearts. They want to live that Interstellar life...donât drag us all into that hell along with them. Have fun in the dust storm, farming corn....
Wow, the more I learn about Terry Crews...the more I admire the man. He's so talented in so many ways. He breaks stereotypes. He is the epitome of a good role model, especially for young men. Despite being crazy ripped, he doesn't possess the macho male chauvinist ideology. He is self-reflective and introspective. Much respect for the man!

Sisterly Bond
Just when I thought I had my sis figured out, she comes out and shocks me. Â Not from the closet but just outright surprising me in sharing some unusual hobbies with me, as in we both enjoy the disturbing interest of watching true crime shows. Â Never would I have thought that someone who avoids watching the news because of all the negativity, and stories are just sad overall.
So, for the past few months, we make it a weekly occurrence that she comes over to watch ID shows with me. Â Although gruesome, she was not at all put off by them. Â In fact, she had been watching a lot of Dateline, which I had watched religiously a few years ago (until Iâve seen all the episodes practically). Â We were so hooked on the miniseries, âManhunt: Unabomber.â Â If you havenât seen and have 8 hours to spare, I highly recommend. Â Itâs well written.
Another show weâre hooked on is Declassified, a CNN show about true spy stories.  I love that stuff.  Counter-intelligence!  The job is a total mindfuck!  These people have to be mentally strong and not be susceptible to paranoia.  Your coworkers can be watching you!  It also disturbs me how many spies we live among.  It is just like âThe Americans.â  So, this guy (I forget if itâs FBI or CIA) who says that there can be tens of thousands of spies integrated into our society...on average of 70 different countries spying on us!  Whatâs interesting is that hostile nations can be contracting Cuba to do their spying for them!  WHOA...
While we are lost in the stories, we also speak candidly in the absence of the kids. Â Here she can freely vent about mom and how difficult our relationship is with her. Â It is important one on one quality time with my only sibling. Â I have to take advantage of every moment I have with her. Â
OHHH...she made this cute comment.  She asked, âWhy did this rapper name himself 50 Cent?  Itâs SOOO cheap!â  BAHAHAHAHA...sheâs so behind on pop culture lol.  She only discovered him recently, since he was mentioned on the Wendy Williams show -- sheâs inexplicably hooked on it.
So, THIS is Love...
Iâve dated my share of men in my younger days.  Itâs been 4-1/2 months Iâve been seeing my female best friend.  This is certainly a new frontier for me.  It has been very refreshing for sure.  Weâve been very comfortable with each other.  Hey, we joke about our farts.  Nothing held back...hahaha.  We are unafraid of being silly with each other.  On Sunday, after having a Korean meal for lunch, we were âfart machinesâ -- an inside joke of ours.  In the morning as I get ready for work, she clings to me, in a sing-song, âmonkeyâs gonna get you.â  Gah, itâs so darn CUTE!  Sometimes, she would tip-toe over to where Iâm standing, to be the âmonkey.â  Then, she would disappear to the kitchen to prepare my coffee and pack my lunch as I slowly (agonizingly) put on my facial products.  (I leave the house at 7-ish every morning; while she has more flexible hours yet long hours and will first go home to get ready.  She also has a long commute if from my house.)
Once, she pointed at this spot on the couch. Â âWhat is that? Â Lint?â Â BAHAHAHA...she does have an unusual disdain for lint hahaha. Â She will find it on me all the time, even on my bare skin.
We are very much in love if you canât already tell. Â We see in each other our soul mates...the love of our lives. Â We have discussed her moving in with me, future trips, and even where weâd want to retire. Â For once, Iâm looking forward to the future.
She has a demanding job as a home mortgage consultant, so we try to make sure to spend some quality time together. Â She had spent 4 straight days with me, despite being slammed with work. Â I have never been treated like a priority in any prior relationships. Â I could really feel the difference in treatment. Â She brought me to my bossâ house for his bday party. Â Although I wasnât invited with a +1, she still hung around the area until I was ready to leave. Â As an introvert in a sea of strange faces, it did NOT take long before I summoned her to come get me. Â Sure, it was a small gesture but no one else has ever done this for me...not even my own sister. Â I was so touched; I was moved to tears. Â Nobody treated me with such appreciation and love before.
We celebrate our anniversary every month, whether big or small.  We once went hiking and rode a tandem bike along the beach  #RelationshipGoals

One Year Later...Another New Job
Still canât believe I was at a multi-million dollar house for a party this past weekend! Â Home of my future boss and co-founder of my previous company...it was his early 44th birthday. Â Damn...5 years older than me and so rich...
It was a brand new 3-story house (built in 2012), with great views sitting atop a hill. Â I was amazed by the gadgets, ie video peephole, and electronic locking system. Â
Regrettably, it was a bigger turnout than he described...and I was the only one who knew less than a handful of guests. Â I would say at least 30 people in attendance. Â For an introvert, I was beyond overwhelmed. Â It was a rowdy party. Â People were not that friendly nor welcoming, especially this large group that has known each other for decades! Â A couple did chat with me but only because I was directly introduced by the bossman.Â
Throughout the party, I was so miserable! Â I stayed for a couple of hours. Â To my delight, people began to leave. Â Being employee #1, I HAD to accept his party invite, even it was less than a dayâs notice.
In September, Iâll be starting in the company of 2. Â Itâs risky but the reward can be rather big. Â I am riding the manâs coat tail! Â This is his second company...such a smart guy. Â Finally, I will be transitioning away from lab altogether. Â My new title is community and purchasing manager. Â I canât wait to see where my career is headed.

Have you found yours?
After all the failed attempts at a relationship, I really believe in my heart of hearts that dating a stranger was the worst way to go. Â Falling in love with your best friend is the ideal start of a relationship. Â Unfortunately, I have not had a lot of luck to even develop platonic friendships with the opposite sex. Â I guess it usually happens that when youâre attracted to someone, you want to jump head first into dating, so the opportunity to slowly get to know each other without getting intimate doesnât happen at all.
So here we are, I am head-over-heels in love with my best friend â whom I had worked with for 6 years together, been friends with since 2011, took 5 trips with, etcâŚ
When you really think about it, is it really that hard to fall for your best friend?  You spend so much time together.  You know each other the best.  Youâve seen each other through the worst times.  Through it all, their support was unwavering.  How can you not fall for them, sooner or later.  (Although I did have a great best friend with whom I only viewed him as a little brother, and with that rejection â our friendship faded away.)
Whatâs also different is that I can be very open with my thoughts and feelings, so there should not be any miscommunication nor jumping to conclusions.  We couldnât bear to hear about past relationships (the particulars especiallyâŚwe donât need the visuals), but knowing that we have never experienced this kind of love nor passion before, the past is no longer a threat.  No games here.  We donât have to worry about who has the upper hand.  Not only do we tell each other when we miss each other which is often, weâve started expressing our love for each otherâŚand explicit thoughts.  NSFW for sure. It's so refreshing to be able to have an honest relationship.
At the same time, I still cannot believe this is all happening.  One moment weâre best buds, and the next weâre canoodling and inseparable.  All along, what I have been looking for had been under the nose.  Iâve been so irritatingly giddy and smitten as of late.  It has been the happiest Iâve ever been.  I have never felt such intense love and passion for anyone before.  It still blows my mindâŚ
