Ngl The Boys is one of those shows where I love it but it's Not Very Good. Like I can't recommend it in good conscience without first giving a disclaimer for how fucking stupid it is 80% of the time.
HOWEVER I think Homelander is the best reason to watch it. I'm biased but he is the most interesting, complex (and well acted!!) character in the show and basically carried the last few seasons. Even if you hate him, he's still a fascinating character to watch and a really good villain (he's the reason I watched it)
Also if you like Villainous, it is very similar in terms of world building, morally grey protagonists, corrupt superheroes but because it's longer, it's able to explore those themes in more depth? Let me know if you do watch it!

I’m honestly curious!
I think she's a really tragic character, I love the irony of her trying so hard to get everyone to love her and in doing so making everyone hate her. I love characters who are motivated by love. And I think her design is really effective at conveying her character. I also find her relationship with Flug really compelling because as awful as she was to him, it's clear that she still has some kind of feelings for him and he still cares for her too.

I have mixed feelings on butchlander as a ship because 1 I HATE Butcher he's probably one of my least favourite characters on the whole show and 2 him and Homelander actually barely get any scenes together so I didn't get drawn in. However I think their dynamic can be so interesting and all the fanworks for them are really good! So I've kinda got into them purely through art and fic 😂
