fred - doesn’t watch them because they scare him

velma - watches them but is insufferable because she will just be like “that wasn’t scary”

daphne - watches them as a sport. is rarely, if ever, scared by them, but is in it for the love of the game

Yes!!! I literally can’t stop imagining Velma watching the credits roll and saying “that wasn’t scary” in her most empirical voice like IT FITS. She also definitely talks during movies and her comments are usually two varities:

Criticizing the teenagers in horror movies for not being better prepared for/more knowledgeable about the paranormal

Pointing out inaccuracies (everybody knows the Loch Ness Monster doesn’t look like that, that is not the correct way to hold a hacksaw)

Fred being a scaredy-cat when it comes to horror movies is adorable! I feel like:

He would fall for jump scares really bad and grab onto the person closest to him (usually Daphne)

Anytime they convince Fred to watch a horror movie, he holds Daphne’s hand in a death grip the whole time

Shaggy & Scooby are Horror Kings! It’s Their genre of film and the Gang usually only watches horror movies when it’s their turn to pick (especially since Fred isn’t a big fan). Other stuff?

I feel like they would laugh at inappropriate parts of the movie? Like they get genuine pleasure out of watching a character going into the basement/cemetery/etc and being able to chuckle and elbow each other like “glad that’s not us”

Obviously they snack during the whole movie and are definitely those people at the theater that go to get refills halfway through and then try to sneak back in through the aisles with their hands way too full and manage to bump into everyone while whispering “sorry” and “excuse me” the whole way (doesn’t help that they probably do this at the most suspenseful part)

Daphne treating watching horror movies like a sport is very on brand for her. She definitely:

Takes pride in not showing fear during the spooky parts

Apparently it’s normal for them, that sometimes they don’t have more than one bed

please help my hippie runaway children

I could make an entire zine of Scooby and Amber just hanging out in the stars lol.
