I think there also be a very interesting premise of Kris not exactly being happy in losing Susie to Noelle and very much being in love with her too.

but the player forcing them to play "matchmaker" and kris can just watch again in watching their chance of happiness being taken.

puts the tragedy of kris not beling allowed to be selfish or to get what they want and forced to sacrifice for other people's happiness. as their "role" to be the hero who puts others before their own.

when kris very much just wants their own happiness and their own wants.

I also think this may be a parallel to Dess and Asriel too. in that Kris was also pushed to the side when they got closer and started dating and Kris lost their brother.
