livvy stands on her tiptoes to better glance out the window as the rain and hail pelt the world around the little diner. her waitress has expressly forbidden her from biking home in this weather and liv isn’t about to argue; she hadn’t been wanting to go home anyway.

liv spares a glance at the man who’d been seated at the counter with her as she once again takes a seat and begins to work on her homework. several moments pass where the pouring rain is the only sound before livvy leans over a bit, “ hey, sir? d'you know any synonyms for the word ’endeavor’? ”

    “     the     snow     is     best     observed     from     the     warmth     of     one’s     own     bedroom. “     he     attempts     to     maintain     his     sour     expression,     but     napoleon     succeeds     in     jostling     a     smile     from     him. “     buy     me     TWO. “
