If you visit the Bahamas between July 3 and July 11, you get to experience not only a great party, but two! The Bahamas, July 4th is celebrated as the traditional American feast. So, you get the advantage of enjoying the Independence Day of the Bahamas on July 10! This means double the fun in one trip! July 4th is the date that the United States celebrates its independence from Britain. For a bit 'of American history, July 4, 1776 is the date that the Declaration of Independence was signed, and this time ended up being the national holiday. As for the Bahamas, independence was much younger. In 1964, the islands of the Bahamas were given limited self-government by Great Britain. The Commonwealth began in 1969. Then, finally, July 10, 1973 the Bahamas became an independent nation! The United States and the Bahamas share in common that both countries gained independence from Great Britain.The Bahamas is a beautiful place to visit, hands down. You really do not even need a reason like a holiday to go there and enjoy a journey more fascinating than ever! There are many different islands to visit, and you can choose those that work for you. You can visit a small island that has only one or two hotels, or choose a larger one that has many. I recommend the Grand Bahama Island or New Providence.I actually made this trip dual-holiday two years ago, and went to both islands. The way it worked was that we flew to Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, and then took a flight between the islands of Nassau on New Providence. We stayed in Freeport for the first three days, and then went to Nassau. The first two days were spent in Nassau to Paradise Island, and then we stayed in cheaper accommodation in Nassau itself for four days. We took a flight between the islands back to Freeport, Freeport, and then flew directly back to the United States. The whole journey took nine days, and it was the right amount of time to see everything that the majority on both islands.Freeport 4thFreeport and July is a great place on Grand Bahama Island. This is where most cruise ships are taken. In Freeport, you will find a lot of local shops and restaurants, all with water in an area called the Marketplace. This is where the fireworks took place that we saw on July 4. There is a central area with a nice stadium. Bands played throughout the evening of July 4. All around the downtown area are several restaurants, many of which you can sit outside and watch the bands play for a dinner. The fireworks then take place around 10 pm and last about 45 minutes. They are almost directly above the water. This is a spectacular sight.Imagine the perfect July 4th in the Bahamas. We visit the beach all day in Freeport, the Bahamas and bask in the sun getting a tan island (just wear sunblock so you do not burn. Lets go back to your hotel room, perhaps Port Lucaya Yacht Club, and make a nice summer nap. Then, the shower and get ready for an evening of fun. It will probably be in the 80s, even at night, so dress for the occasion! I do not think I went trousers time! Walking to the restaurant and shop area, and select one of the many restaurants in the Bahamas. (The food is very similar to the U.S., with selections of fish, etc. The difference is in the spices and fruits like mangoes instead of apples.) So, you eat out, while watching some bands. 10 pm, thefireworks start, and you leave the restaurant and sit at a table in the stage. The fireworks are amazing and romantic to add! Finally, you dance the rest of the night with cultural and American music! Rest assured there will be some familiar songs Independence Day America! 10thThrough Nassau and July, the week preceding the Independence Day celebration, you will find lots of parties. Some of these include concerts, festivals and party nights. On July 10, Fireworks are held in different places, as well as a parade and concert. Unfortunately, a huge storm crept into the night we were there in 2004, so we could not find any fireworks! However, the island will be a buzz with Independence Day celebrations! Getting thereYou will be easy to find the cheapest in Freeport on Grand Bahama Island. If you want to fly to Freeport, AirTran Airways is probably the first choice. They offer cheap flights a day, with a hub Atlanta, Georgia. AirTran flies to Freeport from Baltimore, MD, for example. If you live in New York City, take U.S. Airways from LaGuardia Airport. To get to Nassau, check out Spirit Airlines or American Airlines. If you're looking for best price, AirTran and Spirit, you can get to the Bahamas starting at about $ 340 round trip including taxes and fees for an adult. stayOn Where Grand Bahama Island, I recommend you stay in Freeport. This is the area travel, and probably the safest. There might be other remote locations that might have more to hear of the Bahamas, but I would stay with the Freeport area. My advice above is Port Lucaya Resort and Yacht Club The prices are very good at Starting at $ 80 per night, and you're right in Marina, where boats come and go throughout the day. There are about nine buildings in a semicircle, surrounded by water, and every building has about 20 rooms for guests in it. Al center of the semicircle will find a small bar serving some 'food, and a large pool with a volleyball net in it! The Port Lucaya Resort is located right next to Port Lucaya Marketplace, which houses many shops and restaurants. You can shop duty free! right across the street, you will find great beaches! in New Providence Island, the best place to stay without isAtlantis questions Resort on Paradise Island. A bridge provides easy access from Nassau to Paradise Island resort. Atlantis is amazing, and offers a holiday all to himself. There are many choices of accommodation, from single rooms to deluxe suites. Many luxury restaurants are housed at Atlantis. For the person playing, you will find a casino! The best part of Atlantis is the same location. There water slide that takes you through the center of the sharks, protected only by glass, artificial beaches and lagoons, a lazy river ride on inner tubes, and scenic landscapes that delight the eye, as you can see. The beach is within walking distance of white sand and blue waters.For the budget-minded traveler, you can stay at Comfort Suites Hotels in Paradise Island, which allows access to the Atlantis resort, but costs much less! If you are really tight budget, you can stay in InninNassau holiday, which starts at around $ 60 a night and sometimes offers a complimentary fourth night with reservations for three nights! We stayed one night at the Comfort Suites to see Atlantis for two days, and then stayed at the ' Holiday Inn for the rest of our time up in New Providence.What doth not an end to what you can experience in the Bahamas for the Independence Day celebrations. Junkanoo The festival lasts all July, where Bahamians celebrate with parades, parties and concerts. Bahamians check out dressed like that style "Mardi Gras in native costume. It 's very exciting to see. Freeport, parades go right down the street near the Port Lucaya Resort. In Nassau, there are several venues for the celebrations. You'll find festivals and parades on many highways and tourist areas. Apart from the festivities on July 4, there are many other fascinating things to do. on the island of Grand Bahama, take a drive to Eight Mile Rock, where There is a rocky beach and is just set up for drinks and dinner and souvenir sales. Cool Tips new restrictions came into force in which everyone who travels to Caribbean from the United States must have a passport. Previously, all that was needed was a license, birth certificate, and return air tickets and travel itinerary. However, there are two ways to help with this restriction. first place, the Bush administration ruled that travelers from the United States and the Bahamas will not need a passport for travel dates later this summer. Secondly, you can actually get a refund for the cost of obtaining an expedited passport to some of the hotels in Nassau in the Bahamas. They will pay up to $ 157 per adult and $ 142 for children up to two people per room, for the cost of obtaining a passport. You have to stay in a hotel nineteen included in the program.
