Since they graduated from the UA Katsuki and he have become so inseparable that Izuku kinda forgot how friends are supposed to behave around each other, especially when they're an alpha and an omega.
They live together despite having different second genders; it hasn't been easy, but they have gotten used to it. Whenever one of them is in rut (Katsuki) or in heat (Izuku), the other spends those days at a friend's house.
Uraraka has started to talk with the green haired omega about his situation; she insists he must have a serious conversation with the other pro hero because they don't seem to be in the same page.
When Izuku asks her to elaborate, she refuses to say anything else because she truly believes it's best for him to talk to Katsuki about it.
The omega is not so sure what she's trying to get at, so he doesn't start the conversation with the blond pro hero when he gets home that night.
Their fans watch with curiosity as they both end up exhausted after a battle, mostly because Izuku sits on the ground while the police make sure the civilians don't get too close, and, after a few seconds, the grumpy alpha collapses right next to him, before resting his face on the omega's lap and wrapping both broad arms around his waist.
Sometimes Katsuki purrs, even though there are people gathered around taking videos of the two.
During interviews, pro hero Dynamight always keeps a hand on Izuku's waist and nuzzles against the back of his neck every now and then, breathing in his scent, especially when one of the reporters is pissing him off.
Izuku's students (he still works at the UA) are usually pointing out that he doesn't smell like himself anymore because Dynamight's scent has mixed with his.
Which has led them to believe they're dating.
Then, the video of them resting after a battle becomes viral, and their fans are convinced they'll get married soon.
Izuku worries about that, and consults with one of the PRs, but she assures him that it doesn't matter what their fans believe, because they support them no matter what.
"They'd be very happy if you two decided to become mates."
"Besides, Bakugo-san has told us not to intervene; he wants them to believe you two are together."
"I'm afraid you'll have to ask him yourself, Midoriya-san."
He's not going to lie, he's a bit upset. Since their fans have been talking about him as well, he feels like he should have a say in this.
As soon as he comes back to their apartment, and sees Katsuki, the alpha realizes there's something wrong, probably because of his scent.
"What did I do this time?"
Izuku crosses his arms over his chest, and pouts, but he lets Katsuki get closer enough to press their foreheads together.
"Why do you want people to believe we're a couple?"
Katsuki moves a way a bit to meet his eyes, his scent turns sad and Izuku suddenly regrets asking.
"I'll tell you the truth, but promise not to get mad, alright?"
A bit confused and now worried about the other pro hero, the omega nods.
"I don't want anyone to take you away from me," the alpha blurts out; he says it quickly, like it's something difficult to confess, and doesn't want to give himself enough time to take it back. "Also... I wanted to daydream for a while; having everyone on social media claiming we were a couple made it easier for me to picture it."
"I love you, Izuku. But if you don't-"
In response, Izuku's inner omega purrs, right before giving the other pro hero a kiss on the lips.
Katsuki freezes, but his face turns slightly pink; he blinks a couple of times before puling the teacher into his arms.
"I did!" The omega chuckles, feeling the blond nuzzling against his cheeks affectionately.
"Now, you'll have to marry me."
Izuku doesn't even blink in surprise at the words; he's ready.
"Yes," the alpha purrs, taking him into his arms and taking him to his bedroom. "I'm going to give you a mating bite tonight so our fans can confirm their suspicions."
Izuku doesn't resist, he's wants to be intimate with his alpha too; he's been in love with him for a long time after all.
