I’ve read road dogs and I don’t even know if you post about road dogs on here and I’m kinda sleep deprived and I don’t know why I’m asking this, but did you ever have a specific appearance in mind for reader? I can’t really remember any descriptions about him except for the times he was unshaven, starved or sleep deprived. I really loved road dogs btw it totally changed my life in every aspect and I’m not exaggerating when I say that.

not necessarily a hair color or specifics (i tried to be as neutral as possible in my descriptions), but to make a story like this possible he’d most likely be white. mr reader moves throughout 1890s USA much too frictionlessly to not be white is what i’m saying.
sort of related is: to make a few events possible he’d have to be pretty attractive. people often tell him he’s attractive and he’s afforded privileges due to this. the kind of pretty boy that you wouldn’t assume has any bad intentions. perhaps he has really honest looking eyes or something?
i picture him pretty tall, like… similar height to john kinda. in my head they look like two peas in a pod. they match. they look good together :)
and yess i do imagine his level of kept-up-ness is super duper important. he values his appearance a lot, he likes nice things you know? and he likes taking care of himself, looking good. he’s a peacock! so most of the time he looks a lil fancy. so when he look unkempt, it usually means something important.
