HELLO???
The funniest part is that she didnβt post about it
psa to all white people: if you start your conversation with βiβm sorry for being whiteβ βas someone lighter than paperβ βwhite people are terrible i will be the first to tell youβ or anything similar i will not β π ββοΈ be listening to the rest of your sentence. your performative self-flagellation solves nothing and i refuse to validate your racial victim complex π π‘
i didn't understand this for the longest time because i thought i was being a good ally. so here's what i've learned since then
racism isn't about the racists or white allies (or their "guilt"). racism is about the victims of that racism. when a victim of racism speaks about racism, it's your turn to listen. and, if they want you to, empathize
the color of your skin has nothing to do with whatever you're about to say. if you're going to empathize, do it. if you're frustrated for them, then say that. you will not have to spell it out to them if you're a good ally or not. they will know
do not shame yourself, your race or anyone else as a response to hearing about racism. it is not about you. it is not about racists. shame the racists! call them out! but stop saying it to the victims!!! it's performative at best
you are not "one of the good ones" for not being racist. that is normal.
if someone corrects you and calls you out on something racist. listen to them. i dont care if they're "mean" or "aggressive". i dont care if they dont explain every single nuance to what you said. you can do your own research. just apologize and move on
Dumbest warmup ever actually

bug boys
Itβs amazing how much we can see ourselves in some of the other ape species and how much they likely see of themselves in us.Β
everyone in the comments going βhaha two apes looking at a bug...β
bitch youβre looking too
three apes looking at a bug
your weird obsession with having a fully formed white picket fence found family who all speak like they've inhaled their therapist who you subconsciously want to be adopted into is ruining your ability to interact with the source material
NO you absolutely WANT your PLASTIC SURGERY procedures to be done by a PLASTIC SURGEON.
As in someone who is specifically trained in it and does it every day.
Someone who is not specifically trained in pleasing cosmetic results and not actively practicing pleasing cosmetic results is how you get horrifying cosmetic results
I cannot tell you how many episodes of Botched I've seen where someone with a mangled nose job says some shit like "My dentist did 2 for 1 rhinoplasty...."
Feels like an important clarification from prev
I have had a rant brewing for awhile now and this seems like as good a place as any for it:
The "plastic" in "plastic surgeon" did not get here to mean "cheap and fake."
Plastic, the word, predates plastic, the material. The material was named for its noteworthy quality.
"Plastic" means "shapeable." Workable, moldable, malleable, et cetera.
When the first reconstructive surgeries were being pioneered in the 19th century, working absolute miracles like restoring whole faces to girls and women who'd caught fire tending to their kitchen stoves, among a multitude of other devastating conditions, it was this miraculous reshaping that gave the surgery its name: plastic surgery, the shaping surgery.
Time passes, and plastic, the material, is developed, and goes from fantastic modern wonder material to byword for cheap imitation; plastic, the surgery, expands from reconstruction to aesthetic finicking, Barbie is introduced with her unrealistically-proportioned plastic body, and the phrase "plastic surgery" goes from indicating "the reshaping surgery (what a marvelous thing)" to "the fake face/fake tits/fake nose surgery (how vulgar and deceitful)."
Same phrase. Entirely different connotation.
Just sayin'.
You want the reshaping. Go for the plastic.
People seem to think of plastic surgery as for cosmetic purposes only. Kids getting plastic surgery is considered a sign of the fall of society. I got three plastic surgeries before I was 10. I was born with a facial birthmark that actually caused malnutrition as a baby (couldn't latch on) and a speech delay (couldn't put my lips together to form sounds). I was also treated as a pariah by fellow toddlers who were scared of me, which I think caused the social anxiety disorder I have today. My mom literally searched the country for the right surgeon. We had to take a week to go up to Boston Children's Hospital each time. The surgeon is famous in medical circles for the things he did for kids like me. Plastic surgeons are heroes.
my all time favorite tiktok skit that needs to be as famous as it is all consuming in my mind idc idc

really losing my patience for any 'feminist' statement to the tune of 'we need feminism because women fill a fundamentally different and necessary role than men and will be better at doing x y or z'. like actually i think we need feminism because it is an unbearable death of the spirit by inches to exist in a world where you are not seen as a fully realized human being because of a single cultural determination, and because a world that enshrines such things creates systems that are fundamentally sick to the core
people wonder why i want sex work decriminalized. because when an adult consents to sex in exchange for currency, i deserve to be protected if im assaulted. if i agree to set terms and a client violates me, they should be prosecuted without me or other sex workers fearing for our own freedom
now i cant do anything. i just have to block his number, keep doing survival sex work and pray i dont get hurt anymore.
please support your local sex workers. protect us. help spread our voices.
Not everyone who is a woman is a non-man, and not everyone who is a man is a non-woman. Some people's genders aren't non-anything. Sit on that and nurture it and let it hatch and grow up to be a healthy worldview love and peace on planet earth
This is about genderfluid/multigendered people. Respect us as much as you do monogendered people NOW.
