A brand new PMD Fic from Me and @modern-masquerade! A prequel to Story of Arceus set over 600 years in the past, during the 'Second War of Arcea'.

In 1347 a Tibetan farmer and father is swept away into a strange land. Thought to be a harbinger of peace he instead is a harbinger of war. A warrior. A tool.

But killing is not in his heart. As the years of the war drag on, as supply lines are stretched thin, as soldiers sit on stagnant frontlines cold and starving with villages behind them struggling to get by in a land burned, salted and scarred, Jianguo holds onto hope. Kindness can still be fostered. It can be more powerful than armies.

These are the lessons that he imparts to the young girl in his care who will become the ruler of this war-torn country.
